Today nearly 30 people gathered in Princeton Indiana. Evansville Resistance attended the protest to stand in solidarity with those fighting this administration in Gibson County! We may be in Evansville, but we plan to connect with other organizations all over the state of Indiana! We want to see resistance groups all over this state taking a stand and organizing and mobilizing. We want to see a record turn out at the next election and see people coming together to form the community needed to build the kind of world we all want. One we can all be proud of! We are so proud of Princeton, it may be red, but the response we got today showed us just how many blue dots there are in Gibson county!
In our humble opinion— it’s the Trump Supporters that appear to be the dots— not us. We may feel like loan blue dots in a sea of red— but the wave is coming and we are turning the tide! Together we can make sure our communities stay places that truly are for everyone. Where everyone’s voice matters, where everyone is represented. Where people matter more than money. Where we truly care for each other. A place where we build each other up instead of tearing each other down.
I think that world is possible, but it’s not going to just happen. We have to build it. We have to show up. We have to vote. We have to engage in the difficult discourse required to facilitate the support of diverse communities to ensure that every single voice is heard. We have to be willing to look outside ourselves and ask the tough questions and have the tough conversations. We have to be willing to admit our mistakes and humbly ask for help when we need it. Community and the world we want doesn’t happen on its own— that takes us acting. Coming together and showing up. Even when we don’t have the time, energy, or bandwidth. We have to be willing to do it anyway! Thank you so much to everyone who came, supported from a far and made today happen!
If Gibson county can make it happen so can you!! If you need help on where to begin in your city Because nothing is happening and no one is planning marches and protests. Reach out. We are trying to get every single leader in every single city connected. We want resistance groups in every single city. Every single town. Every single county. Find us— reach out. Get connected and start organizing and mobilizing. This doesn’t happen unless we act, unless we rise. You can do this!! We have to!! 💙✊
