Our moms had a great time being creative at Shining Light Stained Glass, celebrating the completion of our Embrace Life Bible study. It took us almost a year to complete. Then we went out for lunch.

We are 39% of our goal! Can you help us open the doors to help single mothers and children. They call us numerous times a month looking for a place to live and looking for resources. These families have minimal to no support from family or their child's father.

Would you consider helping us help them? We don't want to pass up on this opportunity that was offered to Shining Light Homes. The owners of this house would love to see their home be used for ministry! This house is located in Western Branch Chesapeake, and is a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath almost fully furnished except for a few items with all utilities included in the rent.

We’re Looking for 100 People to Give $25 a Month

Shining Light Homes is working to establish Grace House, a transitional home where single mothers and their children will have a safe, stable place to live while they work through our LifeLine Program and toward self-sufficiency.

And we need 100 people to help us make it possible.

If 100 people commit to just $25 a month, together we can provide the ongoing support needed to help keep Grace House open and give moms the stability they need to rebuild.

At Grace House, moms will have a safe roof over their heads while they work to repair their finances, build credit, pursue education and employment, secure reliable transportation and childcare, and prepare to move into a home of their own.

100 people. $25 a month. A safe place for moms and their children to begin again.

We are excited to share with you about a wonderful opportunity to help us take Shining Light Homes to the next level. We have been given the opportunity to rent a house that will hold 2 to 3 single mom families. This is truly one of the biggest needs that single mothers face in Hampton Roads. A wonderful couple has offered us their home for our clients in need of housing. We want to raise enough money to sustain us for 6 months. We know that as soon as one of our families move into the house, they will probably not have funds immediately to contribute. We want to raise enough to help bridge that gap until they can. Would you consider helping us or helping them? We really believe that God is in this and we hope that you will want to join in what God is doing. We truly have been so grateful for local churches, donors; both in-kind and monetary, volunteers and friends who have helped us since we first started Shining Light Homes. If your church, community group, or business would like to join in, we are open to having an "Adopt a Mom", "Adopt a Room" or anything else that will help us reach our goal. Your church, community group, or business plaque will be posted inside the home as recognition for what you are doing for the community and for our moms.

We receive emails, calls and messages from desperate single mother families who do not have support from their family or the children's father leaving them in vulnerable situations. Providing the last remaining resource that Shining Light Homes has wanted since we first started will be a dream come true for us and will provide the hope that single mothers are looking for.
