We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside The Store in Nashville to provide hot, chef-prepared meals to families facing food insecurity.

Founded by Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, The Store creates a shopping experience that preserves dignity by allowing families to choose the groceries that best meet their needs, including fresh produce, dairy, and meat.

Through two special hot meal distributions, Mercy Chefs had the privilege of serving individuals and families who were waiting to shop at The Store.

We know something truly amazing happens over a shared meal, and we’re thankful for partners like The Store who are helping us set tables of hope in their community.

Volunteers are the backbone of Mercy Chefs.

They've crossed state lines, served through disasters, prayed with families, washed dishes, packed meals, and shared hope with communities who need it most.

Every meal tells a story, and our volunteers are part of every one.

For 20 years, they have helped Mercy Chefs be the hands and feet of Jesus, feeding body and soul in communities across the country and around the world. ❤

For 20 years, Mercy Chefs has answered the call to serve communities facing unimaginable loss and devastation.

Whether responding to major hurricanes along the Gulf Coast, tornadoes in the Midwest, or flooding that devastates rural communities, each deployment represents people walking through some of the hardest days of their lives.

Over the past two decades, Mercy Chefs has deployed 366 times to 35 states across the country. The following locations represent the places we’ve responded to most often, telling not only the story of where Mercy Chefs has gone, but more importantly, they show the resilience of the people, volunteers, churches, and communities we’ve had the honor to stand beside along the way. ❤️

Through every storm, every deployment, and every shared meal, God continues opening doors for Mercy Chefs to feed body and soul wherever we are called next.

For the past 20 years, American flags have hung above Mercy Chefs mobile kitchens as we serve communities facing unimaginable loss.

In places like Kerrville, Texas, and Asheville, North Carolina, those flags remained through long days of recovery as our teams served hot meals, prayed with families, and stood beside neighbors walking through heartbreak. Through initiatives like Feed the Force, we’ve had the privilege of caring for American heroes and their families across the country, serving them with the same dignity and compassion they have shown our country.

This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Because of their sacrifice, we can continue feeding body and soul across America and around the world. 🇺🇸

Over the past 20 years, God has authored countless stories through Mercy Chefs. In the middle of hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, and heartbreak, many of our team members first crossed paths with this mission. That's when they felt called to be a part of something greater than themselves.

What started as helping hurting neighbors in their own communities became a lifelong commitment to feeding body and soul. They pray with families who have lost everything. They pour love into every meal they prepare. They lead Mercy Chefs into new countries and continents. They sleep on church floors or in hammocks deep in the jungle. Their desire to serve grows each time they see the power of a hot, chef-prepared meal.

Looking back over two decades, we’re reminded that some of the most life-changing moments begin simply by saying ‘yes’ to the call to just go feed people.

A devastating EF5 tornado tore through Joplin, MO, 15 years ago today, changing tens of thousands of lives in a matter of minutes. At its largest, the tornado was over a mile wide with winds reaching up to 220 mph. It remains one of the worst tornadoes ever recorded.

In the aftermath of unimaginable destruction, Mercy Chefs served hot meals for 11 days to families, first responders, and volunteers working to rebuild their community.

As we reflect on 20 years of Mercy Chefs, Joplin stands out as one of the largest responses in our first five years of serving. Long before many people knew our name, our team was already learning what it meant to feed body and soul by showing up in the middle of heartbreak with a hot meal, compassion, and the love of Christ. ❤

For two decades, responses like Joplin have shaped our mission and remind us why we continue to just go feed people.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ike in September 2008, longtime Mercy Chefs team member Bill Bunce traveled to Beaumont, Texas, alongside Chef Gary to volunteer on his very first deployment.

What followed became a powerful reminder that God’s hand was in every detail of the response. After praying for direction in a parking lot, Mercy Chefs received 500 donated chickens before the food spoiled. Then, just as he and Chef Gary began wondering how they would cook them all, a man arrived from Dallas with a smoker after feeling God call him to Beaumont. He stopped and asked the two if they knew where he should go.

Chef Gary looked at him and said, “You’re supposed to be right here.”

For 20 years, Mercy Chefs has witnessed God’s provision in what often seem like impossible moments. Time and time again, when the lines are long and it feels like the food may run out, God continues to provide, just like the fishes and the loaves.

It is His faithfulness that continues to propel us into each and every response as we go feed body and soul.

Saying yes looks different each time you send us.

For 20 years, Mercy Chefs has stepped into communities facing heartbreak, uncertainty, and unimaginable loss with one simple mission: to ‘feed people; just go feed people.’

We've stood with families picking up the pieces after disasters of all types — and most of the time, what begins as a crisis response becomes something so much more. Hot meals restore hope, dignity, and normalcy. They can be the beginning of restoration.

What began with a single deployment two decades ago has grown into a mission to serve communities around the globe. Thank you for standing with us for the last 20 years. We pray you will stand with us for the next 20. ❤️
