Neighbors helping neighbors has always been at the heart of Mercy Chefs, and during today's distribution in the mountains of Nepal, we watched that unfold right in front of our eyes. ❤

As elderly community members received heavy bags of rice and groceries, young teens stepped forward without a second thought. They lifted the bags onto their shoulders and carried them up the mountain for neighbors who couldn’t make the climb with that weight on their own.

At Mercy Chefs, feeding body and soul has always meant more than serving a meal or carrying a bag of groceries. It’s caring for one another, stepping in when there’s a need, and helping carry the load when it feels too heavy to bear alone.

Mercy Chefs Global is traveling deeper into communities devastated by flooding and mudslides in Nepal. We’re reaching families who have lost their homes, farms, and livelihoods.

In just two days, we’ve provided groceries totaling more than 40,000 meal portions to families in some of the hardest-hit areas. In several villages, families have told our team this is the only outside help they’ve received since the flooding.

Many of these families are farmers who have lost the land and resources they depend on to provide for their families. Some are now staying with relatives and friends as they face an uncertain road ahead. There is so much suffering, but there are also smiles as food arrives, hugs shared with our team, and opportunities to pray with families and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

We are so grateful for our local partners who are helping us reach these communities and continue finding ways to get food into the hands of families who need it most. ❤️

Mercy Chefs Global is on the ground in Nepal, and on our first day, we worked alongside our trusted local partners to provide 120 families with grocery bags filled with rice, lentils, cooking oil, salt, and other essentials, totaling more than 17,000 meal portions. Each bag contains more than 70 pounds of food, giving displaced families ingredients they can use to prepare meals in the days ahead.

Reaching some of the hardest-hit communities remains incredibly difficult. Roads and bridges have been destroyed, families have been displaced, and entire areas remain cut off. Working alongside local church leaders and Nepalese authorities, our team has access to a helicopter that will help us reach remote communities that are otherwise inaccessible. For now, grocery distributions are helping us get food directly to families while our team continues working to reach those with even greater needs.

There is still so much ahead, but we are grateful to be here serving alongside our partners and the people of Nepal. If you'd like to help us feed body and soul where it’s needed most, visit https://go.mercychefs.com/nepal-flood-2026

🚨WE ARE DEPLOYING TO NEPAL🚨

Mercy Chefs Global is deploying to Nepal following devastating flash floods and mudslides that have swept through mountainous communities, leaving widespread destruction and families in urgent need of food and essential resources.

Mercy Chefs is already serving in Nepal every day through our ongoing feeding programs, and those trusted relationships are helping us respond quickly. As members of our Global team travel to the region, we are working closely with our local partners and their network of churches across the country to understand where the greatest needs are and how we can get food to families who need it most.

Reaching families will not be easy. Roads and bridges have been washed away, leaving some communities completely cut off and incredibly difficult to reach. Our team is exploring every possible way to get food and resources to families, including grocery distributions and providing staple foods and cooking supplies that can reach remote areas where traditional feeding operations may not be possible.

In the hardest moments, we believe we are called to show up and serve. Our team is going where the need takes us, and we’ll continue sharing updates as we learn more from the ground. Please pray for safe travel for our team, wisdom for our local partners, the search and rescue crews continuing their work, and the people of Nepal facing an incredibly difficult road ahead.

If you feel led to support our response, your generosity will help us feed body and soul where it’s needed most. Please visit https://go.mercychefs.com/nepal-flood-2026 to give. ❤

Devastating flash floods and mudslides have swept through Nepal, leaving widespread destruction and claiming hundreds of lives. Many people remain missing as search and rescue efforts continue. Homes, roads, bridges, and critical infrastructure have been destroyed, leaving communities cut off and families facing tremendous loss.

Approximately 93,000 people may have been affected by the disaster, including thousands of children urgently needing food, clean water, healthcare, and other basic necessities. Schools and health facilities have been destroyed or severely damaged, while more than 80 bridges and miles of roads have been washed away, making it incredibly difficult to reach families in some of the hardest-hit mountainous communities.

Mercy Chefs Global already has ongoing daily feeding programs in Nepal, and we are working closely with our local partners to respond to the growing needs. Right now, we are moving local resources and providing additional financial support to help reach families impacted by the flooding.

Mercy Chefs Global team members are also traveling to Nepal to assist our local partners on the ground and help assess what additional resources will be needed in the days ahead.

Please join us in praying for the people of Nepal, especially those who have lost loved ones, families facing unimaginable loss, and the first responders and local partners working tirelessly to reach those in need. ❤🙏

Since June, Mercy Chefs has responded to disaster after disaster, bringing more than a meal to communities in need. We’ve had the honor of serving over 250,000 meals to families and individuals across Colombia, Venezuela, Washington, Colorado, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Texas, and Louisiana, helping to feed both body and soul in some of their most difficult moments.

We’ve heard stories from people who told us how a Mercy Chefs meal reached their family members on one of their hardest days. We’ve heard how receiving a hot, chef-prepared meal meant having one less thing to worry about while cleaning up, rebuilding, and trying to find a way forward.

Thank you for helping us show up when communities need it most. Your generosity allows Mercy Chefs to continue serving hot, chef-prepared meals and restoring hope, one community, one family, and one plate at a time. ❤

Jesica had never experienced anything like the earthquake that devastated her community in Colombia on August 10th. But in the days and weeks that followed, she found a way to make a real impact with the gift God gave her.

As a local culinary student, she stepped into the kitchen with Mercy Chefs to help make hot, chef-prepared meals for her neighbors. Before this week, Jesica had never heard of Mercy Chefs or thought about using her culinary skills to help people after disasters. Now, after serving her own community, she dreams of one day using those same skills to serve people around the world to do for others what she has been able to do for her neighbors.

Neighbors helping neighbors to answer a simple call: just go feed people. ❤️

So much has been lost in Colombia, but in the middle of it all, we continue to witness an incredible love for one another.

Everywhere we go, we meet people surrounded by reminders of what life looked like before the earthquake. The gym they visited just days before is now missing a wall. Family homes passed down for generations are damaged or gone. Irreplaceable belongings and memories have been lost.

And yet, day after day, people experiencing this loss themselves continue to show up. Alongside our team, they're helping prepare and distribute hot, chef-prepared meals to their neighbors.

We are incredibly humbled to be welcomed into this community and to serve alongside people who have lost so much, yet continue to give so much. ❤

“I’ve been here three days; now my belly is full and so is my heart. I feel safe here, like nothing is going to fall on me.”

When Blanca first came to Mercy Chefs, she hadn’t eaten since the earthquake. She had lost her home and everything inside, and her daughter and grandson had to be pulled from the rubble.

With nowhere to go and her whole world turned upside down, Blanca was hungry and grieving, but she still wanted to serve her neighbors.

While preparing meals alongside our team in Pereira, there are moments when the weight of everything Blanca has lost becomes overwhelming, and grief understandably overtakes her. But there are always arms to hold her, shoulders to cry on, and people ready to pray with her.

At Mercy Chefs, we have always known that feeding body and soul is about more than just the meal. It’s about giving someone a safe place to belong, surrounded by God’s love, when nowhere else feels like home. ❤

It has been an honor to provide meals for students impacted by the wildfires through Project:Camp, come alongside families who lost everything and simply needed someone to lean on, and gather around the table with a community that has been through so much.

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the way neighbors were helping neighbors, churches and schools were coming together, and volunteers were stepping in to serve wherever they were needed most.

Thank you, Nine Mile Falls, for welcoming Mercy Chefs, inviting us to serve hot, chef-prepared meals, and allowing us to be part of your community during this difficult time. ❤
