Mercy Chefs is a faith-based, 501(c)3 non-profit disaster relief organization. We exist to provide professionally prepared, restaurant-quality meals to victims, volunteers, and first responders in natural disasters, national emergencies, and humanitarian crises, and we partner with existing like-minded organizations to further their mission by providing food service in underserved communities across the country. Hurricane Isaias is strengthening in the Gulf of Mexico, with sustained winds of 80 mph and the potential to bring life-threatening storm surge, damaging winds, and significant flooding to communities along the Gulf Coast in the days ahead.

We know how quickly a powerful storm can devastate a community and how difficult the days that follow can be. Our hearts are with the families preparing for the storm and everyone in its path.

Mercy Chefs is closely monitoring Hurricane Isaias and has team members pre-positioned and ready to respond immediately with hot, chef-prepared meals wherever we are needed.

Please join us in praying for the families and communities in the storm’s path, those who may be evacuating, and the first responders and emergency crews preparing to keep their neighbors safe. ❤️

During Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re celebrating the incredible people and communities who play an important role in helping us just go feed people. ❤

From the Hispanic and Latino members of our Mercy Chefs family to the trusted partners working alongside us, we are grateful for the cultures, traditions, and stories that enrich our mission and shape the work we do.

Whether responding in the wake of disaster or providing meals through long-term feeding programs, we’ve seen firsthand the power of a shared meal.

Mercy Chefs Global spent time in Tijuana, Mexico, serving alongside the community at Embajadores de Jesús. Since the spring of 2023, we have taught annual cooking and food safety classes, shared meals, and this time prepared more than 700 hot, chef-prepared meals together.

One story in particular reminded us why this work matters beyond the meal. One woman at the shelter had taken the Food Handling Safety class and received a certificate. She later used that certificate when applying for jobs in Tijuana, which helped her land a position in the restaurant industry. Today, she is continuing to learn and work to provide for her family.

We’re grateful that Mercy Chefs can provide a hot meal for today while also sharing skills that can create opportunities for tomorrow. ❤️

Military families already sacrifice so much for our country, but many also face challenges at home that can make putting fresh food on the table harder.

We’ve seen it firsthand. We’ve met spouses of deployed service members who didn’t have reliable transportation and walked miles with their children in strollers to get food for their families.

Mercy Chefs is incredibly honored to meet these families where they are through our Feed the Force initiative. ❤

For almost a year, we’ve been committed to feeding America’s heroes and their families through our Feed the Force Initiative. Last week, that commitment brought us to Fort Story in Virginia. 🇺🇸

With help from service members who volunteered to care for their own community, we served over 11,500 meals to military members and their families, both on base and in the barracks. Families received hot, chef-prepared meals, Family Grocery Boxes, and fresh produce to fill their pantries for the weeks ahead.

It’s an honor to serve those who serve and to recognize the sacrifice and dedication of our military community. ❤

Already this year, Mercy Chefs Global has served more than 3 million meals, reaching families in some of the hardest places in the world.

In addition to reaching families daily in 51 nations, Mercy Chefs Global answered every call. From devastating earthquakes in South America to deadly flooding in Nepal our teams and trusted local partners continue to go wherever the need is greatest.

And with three months still left in the year, the work is far from over!

As we welcome the first day of fall, we’re looking back with so much gratitude for the incredible volunteers who served alongside us this summer. ❤

Thank you for showing up and serving your neighbors. You became agents of change in communities facing difficult days, helping us serve hot, chef-prepared meals and hope when it was needed most.

Thank you for giving your time, your energy, and your heart to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We couldn’t feed body and soul without you!

Weeks after devastating flooding and mudslides tore through Nepal, thousands of families are still displaced, and some villages remain cut off after roads and bridges were destroyed.

As recovery efforts continue, so does our work. Together with our trusted local partners, we have now provided more than 150,000 meals through grocery distributions to impacted families, reaching hundreds more in just the past few days with grocery bags and other essential items.

Our partners are also delivering Bibles to those who have asked for them and taking time to be there for families, listen to what they’ve been through, and pray with them as they continue to rebuild their lives in the midst of so much devastation and loss. ❤

When Carl Herrera saw what was happening in his home country of Venezuela, he knew he wanted to help.

He reached out to his former team, the Houston Rockets, and together, they connected with Mercy Chefs to help serve families impacted by the devastating earthquakes. Recently, Carl joined our team on the ground, serving alongside our chefs and local partners and seeing firsthand what it truly means to feed body and soul.
