The New Hampshire Art Association is a non-profit art association founded in 1940, and as such is one of the oldest statewide art associations in the country. Currently there are over 250 juried members of painters, photographers,printmakers, sculptors, and other fine artists living and working primarily in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont. NHAA

Twenty-five thousand people per yea

r engage with the NHAA Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery as well as their off-site exhibitions. Although visitors are primarily from New England, the NHAA has a significant international audience. The Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery hosts local artists shows throughout the year, opening their new shows in conjunction with the monthly Art 'Round Town gallery art walks in downtown Portsmouth. NHAA artists exhibit their work at the Prescott Park Arts Festival, Seacoast Repertory Theatre, the Smile Building in Concord, NH as well as Pop-Up Galleries around the state. Many events are linked to activities in local schools.

Coming Soon: On Paper, a juried exhibition celebrating the innovative use of paper ✨

We can't wait for you to see this exhibition! Our fantastic juror, Lisa Barthelson, curated an diverse show dedicated to the innovative use of paper. Accepted artists entered work that explores cut paper, printmaking, collage, stitching and more. Join us for the opening reception on July 3!

Thank you for joining us ✨

We celebrated the opening reception of our June exhibitions last week at the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery - thank you to everyone who joined us! We welcomed the wonderful folks at New Hampshire Outright for their Pride exhibition, Open Book, alongside our community pride show, Loud & Proud. We also welcomed Kae Mason, Hallie Driscoll and Patricia Kelliher to celebrate their moving and nuanced solo shows.

The 2026 NHAA artists headed to the League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair 🎉

For decades, NHAA has had a tent in the annual Craftsmen’s Fair, and we’re so excited to share our artist lineup for 2026. This lineup features 30 NHAA members working in a variety of media, from photography and painting to printmaking, mixed media and more. Each artist will exhibit 1-2 panels of their work, and every artist volunteers throughout the week to greet attendees and chat about their art practice.

Thank you League of NH Craftsmen for having us! Come visit the NHAA tent at the fair August 1-9 at the Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury, NH.

THANK YOU! 🎉

Thanks to your generosity, we surpassed our $10,000 fundraising goal to unlock a $10,000 match! As a small organization, donations of any amount make a huge difference. Because of your support, we’re able to host dozens of exhibitions with vibrant opening receptions, offer popular community programs, grow NHAA’s working groups, host Dinner Club meetups, and most importantly, provide opportunities and connection for local artists at all stages of their careers.

We get to do this impactful work in large part due to the generosity of our community. Thank you for helping us reach our goal, for believing in our staff, exhibitions & programming, and for sharing our belief that art is essential to a thriving community.

NhGives is Live 📣

From 5pm to 5pm on June 9th and 10th, you can double your impact when you support NHAA during NHGives. Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, every dollar up to $10,000 will be matched. Each year, the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery comes alive with over 30 exhibitions, fabulous opening receptions featuring live music and refreshments, artist talks, poetry nights, improv meetups, dinner club, and creative programs designed to bring people together. We are more than an art gallery, NHAA is a place where community thrives. Sharing our voices at a poetry night, connecting with peers through art, and uplifting local artists at all stages of their careers. NHAA is a balm for our disconnected world, offering accessible opportunities to stop scrolling and engage with creativity in-person.
