Join us Thursday, September 10, for a Portsmouth United Mini-Grant Information Session to learn more about available grant funding and the application process.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a special speaker and discussion on domestic violence, followed by the Portsmouth United All Call Mini-Grant Meeting at 6:30 p.m.

AMERICAN KITSCH: POP & CIRCUMSTANCE:
A multi-artist show featuring cultural Americana themes, icons, and timeless takes on contemporary art Curated by Niki Park!

All Saint’s Memorial Hall is excited to announce as one of our featured artists!

Elaine is a painter and illustrator that originally grew up in Washington D.C. She has been teaching art and private music lessons for 22 years in the Hampton Roads area, including teaching art in the Catholic School system. She joined Music and Arts as a piano teacher in 2023.

She studied at the Corcoran Gallery of Art as a teenager in Washington D.C. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University and received a BFA in 1991, with a minor in Art History and Creative Writing.

There she met her husband, and they formed Siddal, an ethereal band that produced 4 albums and tours of the East Coast until 1995. This also inspired the art tag that Elaine uses today for all art related posts. .art on instagram and facebook

Elaine is inspired by themes of Surrealism, Kitsch, Dada art, the Pre-Raphaelite movement, and the Renaissance. She currently lives in Portsmouth, Va

🦆 DUCK, DUCK… MUSEUM! Some rubber ducks are making their way through Portsmouth Museums this September and we need YOU to find them!

Every day that our museums are open in September, one of the Portsmouth Museums will hide a rubber duck somewhere in its galleries or exhibits.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲:
🔎 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 & 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦. Each participating museum will share a clue or a sneak peek of the duck in its hiding spot!

🔄 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐟 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐭! The duck will be replaced throughout the week, giving multiple visitors a chance to find it. With five museums participating, you never know where the duck will turn up next!

Change of plans, but the fun is still on! National Night Out has been rescheduled to October 6th, from 3 to 8pm at Festival Park.

Enjoy live music, food trucks, games, giveaways, demonstrations and activities for the whole family, all while getting to know the neighbors and first responders who help make our community stronger.

The Olde Towne Business Association would like to thank AEM Love LLC for volunteering for our monthly cleanup. Along with our other regular volunteers, the group kept 9 bags of trash from washing down the storm drains or blowing in the river! They are truly Keeping Portsmouth Beautiful!
