This is the public page for a private Facebook group for Oregon Mormon LGBTQ (le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning/queer) and/or SSA (same-sex attracted), as well as their family and friends. The purpose of this group is to increase local support and fellowship for people who are associated with the LDS faith and are LGBTQ (le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning/queer) and/or SSA (same-sex attracted) in Oregon and SW Washington. Family and friends are welcome as well. We want this to be a safe and comfortable place for everyone, no matter where they fall on any spectrum. This group is private (secret), meaning only members can see the group and who's in the group. You are welcome to add others to the group as long as they’re respectful of the group’s goals and rules. Group Ground Rules:
1) Privacy/Membership - Please don't share the identity of individuals in this group with anyone outside the group. You're welcome to talk about the group and invite family and friends to activities, but unless you have explicit permission, please keep membership information private. Note: Other members of the group can see your membership in this group.
2) Membership - Anyone interested in building (or finding) fellowship and support surrounding issues of homosexuality in the LDS community is welcome to join.
3) Ideology - This is a place for fellowship and support. We want everyone to feel welcome wherever they are in their personal journey. Our focus is simply to be there for each other. Consider this a judgment-free zone!
4) Respect - When posting, please be respectful of everyone's beliefs, thoughts, experience, and background. Please avoid challenging anyone's beliefs. We want everyone to feel like they can share their experiences and ideas. Please avoid criticism, bashing, or shaming. There are more appropriate venues for debating doctrine and politics. We can provide recommendations if that is what you are interested in. Also, please keep posts and comments appropriate for our audience, which may include teens and people trying to learn about LGBTQ/SSA issues for the first time. Please avoid sexually provocative or suggestive language or images.
5) Safety - this group is intended for fellowship and support. We reserve the right to exclude anyone suspected of engaging in behavior that puts other group members at risk.
