It’s never too early to start spreading a little Christmas magic! 🎄✨

Joshua is gearing up for his 3rd Annual Breakfast With Santa, and this year his goal is to raise $5,000 to help 50 local children in need receive items from their Christmas wish lists. 🎁❤️

That’s $100 per child, and we truly CANNOT do it without the amazing support of our community! 🥰

🎄 So we’re starting it off with our SEPTEMBER DONATION CALENDAR! 🎄

It’s super easy! ❤️

Heads up! School starts Monday at Volusia County Schools ‼

Drivers, keep your head on a swivel and watch out for kids walking, crossing streets, and riding bikes.

Law enforcement will be in and around school zones to enforce traffic laws and look out for everyone's safety.

Remember, speed limits in school zones are strict, and so is the law on passing a stopped school bus with a flashing stop sign and extended stop arm.

Some other points to keep in mind:

🚲 E-bikes are everywhere. WEAR A HELMET! We've stopped several juvenile riders without the proper safety equipment, and we've all seen e-vehicles that don't legally qualify as e-bikes.

Not all "e-bikes" are street legal, so check before you send your kid to school on something that's too fast and too powerful to be legal.

A legal e-bike must have operable pedals, a seat, an electric motor of less than 750 watts, and falls into one of three distinct classes:

Class 1: Pedal-assist only, with motor assistance stopping at 20 mph.

Class 2: Throttle and pedal-assist, with motor assistance stopping at 20 mph.

Class 3: Pedal-assist only, with motor assistance stopping at 28 mph.

REMEMBER: Students must complete the Volusia Schools "Ride Smart VCS" safety course before riding an e-bike or e-scooter to any school campus.

🍎 Parents and guardians are asked to help maintain a safe environment during school pickup and drop-off. Please do not arrive until the school gates are open. Arriving early and waiting in the roadway creates dangerous conditions for children walking to and from school. Blocking the roadway also prevents emergency medical services and law enforcement from responding quickly to calls near the school. To ensure everyone’s safety, deputies will be providing verbal education and may issue citations when vehicles stop or obstruct traffic during these times.
