Statement from the Cauliflower Alley Club

September 1, 2026
Professional wrestling has long lived by a familiar phrase: “The card is subject to change.” Unfortunately, sometimes circumstances arise that are beyond the control of the talent or the promoter. When that happens, the responsibility is to communicate openly and make every reasonable effort to deliver something meaningful in its place.

We recognize and understand the disappointment expressed by some members regarding Ric Flair’s inability to attend our recent reunion in person. Many traveled to the reunion looking forward to seeing the “Nature Boy,” and we do not dismiss that disappointment.
Upon learning that Ric would be unable to appear, Club President B. Brian Blair addressed the situation directly with our membership on Monday evening.

The Club then worked on extremely short notice to secure WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler to appear at the reunion.
At the same time, we continued working with Ric Flair’s management to ensure that he could participate in the event. Those efforts resulted in Ric appearing virtually to accept his honor—the first virtual appearance of its kind in Cauliflower Alley Club reunion history.

Would we have preferred to have Ric standing before the membership in person? Absolutely. We know many of our members would have preferred that as well.

But his inability to be physically present does not diminish a career spanning more than five decades, nor does it disqualify the achievements for which his peers selected him to receive the Iron Mike Mazurki Award. The award recognizes a body of work and a lasting contribution to professional wrestling.

Those accomplishments remain unchanged by an unavoidable absence on one evening.
The Cauliflower Alley Club exists to celebrate the people who built and sustained our industry and, above all, to foster the friendship and fraternity that have defined this organization since 1968.

We appreciate the passion of our members, including those who have expressed disappointment, and we are grateful to everyone who helped us adapt when circumstances changed.

The card was subject to change. The respect behind the honor was not.

Friendship on Display at the 60th CAC Reunion
The celebration of the Cauliflower Alley Club’s 60th Reunion in Las Vegas was filled with memorable moments, but sometimes the best memories are captured in a simple photograph among friends.

Paige Von Hess, Ron Hutchison, Rip Rogers, and Darla Staggs came together during the historic reunion for a picture that perfectly represents what the CAC calls “The Ring of Friendship.”

Each of these individuals has contributed to the CAC and the professional wrestling community in meaningful ways. Ron Hutchison, a lifetime member and former member of the CAC Executive Board, continues to bring people together with his joyful personality and genuine love for the organization. Wherever Ron goes, smiles and friendship are never far behind.

Rip Rogers has devoted decades to professional wrestling as a performer, trainer, and respected voice within the industry. During the reunion, Rip received the Lifetime Ron Hutchison Trainer’s Award—an honor recognizing his tremendous influence on generations of wrestlers. Rip has always been honest, outspoken, and dedicated to helping others understand the wrestling business.

Paige Von Hess once again demonstrated her extraordinary commitment to the CAC. Through her benevolent outreach work, fundraising efforts, and enthusiastic participation in the reunion, Paige helped make the event a tremendous success. Her passion for helping others reflects the true purpose of the organization.

Executive Board member Darla Staggs also played an important role in the reunion’s success. Her hard work, friendship, and dedication—along with the efforts of the entire Executive Board, Advisory Board, and volunteer team—helped create a welcoming experience for everyone who attended.
This photograph is more than four friends smiling together in Las Vegas. It represents different generations and different areas of the wrestling business united by one organization and one common purpose.

For 60 years, the Cauliflower Alley Club has brought wrestlers, promoters, referees, announcers, historians, fans, and their families together. Moments like this remind us why the CAC remains so important.
It truly is—and always will be—The Ring of Friendship.

A Personal Thank-You to Michael “The Burger Chef Man” Dampier:

There are people you meet in life who immediately make a lasting impression. Michael Dampier, better known throughout the wrestling community as “The Burger Chef Man,” is one of those special individuals.

I first met Michael at SICW Fan Fest IV. From the moment we met, I could tell he was someone who genuinely loved professional wrestling and cared deeply about the people involved in it. Michael was not there simply to meet the legends or have his picture taken. He was there because he sincerely valued the friendships and history that make our wrestling community so special.

Michael is also a good friend of Jason Jones from Mid-States Championship Wrestling. Anyone who knows Jason understands his dedication to the wrestling business, and it says a great deal about Michael that these two men share such a strong friendship.

Since meeting Michael, I have come to know him as a kind, generous and truly outstanding individual. He is the type of person who does not just talk about supporting others—he steps forward and does something meaningful.

Michael recently demonstrated that commitment by donating an incredible $2,000 to the Cauliflower Alley Club.

As a lifetime member of the CAC, Michael understands what the organization represents. He believes in preserving professional wrestling’s history, honoring the men and women who built the business and helping members of our wrestling family during difficult times.

As a member of the CAC Executive Board, I wanted the opportunity to personally thank Michael for his generosity. His donation will help the Cauliflower Alley Club continue its important mission and strengthen the Ring of Friendship for years to come.

The CAC needs more individuals like Michael—people who understand that every membership, donation and act of support can make a difference. Not everyone can donate $2,000, but everyone can do something. They can become a member, renew their membership, make a smaller donation, volunteer or simply help spread the word.

Michael has set a wonderful example for promoters, wrestlers, referees, announcers, ring crews, podcasters and wrestling fans everywhere. Supporting the CAC is one way for all of us to give something back to the business and the people who have given us so many unforgettable memories.

Michael, you are truly one awesome individual. I am proud to call you a friend, and I am grateful that SICW Fan Fest IV brought us together.

Ron Hutchison: Bringing Joy and Friendship Wherever He Goes:

Some people have a special ability to walk into a room and immediately make everyone around them feel welcome. CAC lifetime member and former Executive Board member Ron Hutchison is one of those individuals.
Ron’s smile, laughter and joyful personality are unmistakable. Whether he is reconnecting with longtime friends or introducing himself to someone attending the Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion for the first time, Ron brings people together.

The photograph of Ron with Farmer Pete is a perfect example.
This was Farmer Pete’s first CAC Reunion, and Ron made sure he felt like part of the family. With his arm around Pete and his glass raised in celebration, Ron demonstrated what the CAC’s Ring of Friendship is supposed to represent.

No one attending a CAC Reunion should ever feel like a stranger. Ron understands that better than most. He has a natural ability to include people, begin conversations and turn introductions into friendships.

The second photograph, showing Ron surrounded by a large group of CAC members, tells the same story. People gather around Ron because he brings positive energy wherever he goes. His joy is genuine, and it is contagious.
Ron’s contributions to professional wrestling extend far beyond his own career. As a respected trainer, he helped prepare countless individuals for the challenges and responsibilities of the wrestling business. His influence can still be seen in the many performers who benefited from his knowledge, honesty and experience.

His contributions to the Cauliflower Alley Club have been equally meaningful.
As a lifetime member and former member of the CAC Executive Board, Ron has devoted his time to preserving wrestling’s history, honoring its legends and supporting the friendships that keep the organization strong.

Titles and positions may change, but Ron’s commitment to the CAC has never changed. He continues to attend, participate and make the Reunion more enjoyable for everyone around him.

That is an important gift.
The success of the Cauliflower Alley Club cannot be measured only by awards, attendance numbers or fundraising totals. It can also be measured by the relationships created and renewed during each Reunion.

Every handshake matters. Every welcoming smile matters. Every moment spent sitting with someone, sharing a story or introducing two people who have never met matters.
Ron Hutchison understands those moments.
He reminds us that the CAC Reunion is not simply an event—it is a gathering of family. It is a place where legends, wrestlers, promoters, referees, announcers, historians and fans can come together through their shared love of professional wrestling.

Farmer Pete attended his first Reunion and discovered what so many others have learned: when people like Ron Hutchison are there, you are never alone.
Thank you, Ron, for your years of service, your friendship and your ability to bring joy into every room. Thank you for welcoming new members while continuing to honor longtime friends.
Most importantly, thank you for showing all of us what the Ring of Friendship looks like in action.

Leadership, Teamwork and the Ring of Friendship:

The success of the 2026 Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion in Las Vegas did not happen because of the efforts of one person. It was the result of many dedicated people working together with one shared purpose: to make the 60th CAC Reunion a memorable experience for every member, guest and award recipient.

CAC CEO and President B. Brian Blair could not be prouder of the Executive Board, Advisory Board and volunteers who gave their time, energy and talents to make the Reunion successful.
From the planning that took place months before everyone arrived in Las Vegas to the countless responsibilities handled during the event, every individual played an important role.

Advisory Board Chairman Mark Charles was among those who provided leadership and assistance throughout the Reunion. The photograph of Mark and Brian shaking hands represents more than two CAC leaders sharing a special moment. It reflects the cooperation between the Executive Board and Advisory Board and their commitment to moving the organization forward.

The second photograph captures Brian with several of the dedicated volunteers who contributed to the Reunion. These individuals represent the many people who worked behind the scenes, often without recognition, to ensure that everything operated smoothly.
They greeted guests, answered questions, assisted members, handled last-minute needs and helped create the welcoming atmosphere for which the CAC is known.
“Every member of our boards and every volunteer should be proud of what we accomplished together,” Blair said. “An event of this size requires teamwork, patience and many hours of work. I am extremely grateful to everyone who stepped forward to help.”

The Executive Board, Advisory Board and volunteers may have different titles and responsibilities, but they are united by the same mission. They believe in honoring professional wrestling’s history, recognizing the men and women who helped build the business and supporting members of the wrestling family during difficult times.
That spirit was visible throughout the Las Vegas Reunion.

It could be seen in the smiles of longtime friends reconnecting, the emotions of the award recipients, the excitement of new members attending for the first time and the willingness of volunteers to help wherever they were needed.

The CAC Reunion is much more than an awards ceremony. It is a gathering of family—a place where legends, wrestlers, promoters, referees, announcers, historians and fans come together through their shared love of professional wrestling.

Making that experience possible requires a tremendous amount of work. Brian Blair wants every Board member and volunteer to know that their efforts were noticed, valued and deeply appreciated.

The success of the 2026 Reunion belongs to all of them.
The CAC also extends its sincere thanks to every member, guest and award recipient who traveled to Las Vegas. Your attendance and support helped make the 60th Reunion a historic celebration.

Now, the work begins toward making the 2027 CAC Reunion even more successful.
With leaders such as B. Brian Blair and Mark Charles, dedicated Board members, outstanding volunteers and loyal members working together, the future of the Cauliflower Alley Club remains strong.
This is leadership united.

The Cauliflower Alley Club is saddened to learn of the passing of Paul LeDuc, a respected and enduring figure in Québec professional wrestling.

From his legendary tag team with Jos LeDuc to his lifelong dedication to independent wrestling, Paul left an indelible mark on the industry he loved. His contributions spanned generations, and his passion for professional wrestling remained with him throughout his life.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Paul’s family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched.

AIWF ACCEPTS THE CAC CHALLENGE—AND ISSUES ONE OF ITS OWN!

More Than 150 AIWF Promotions Asked to Support the Cauliflower Alley Club
The challenge issued by Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling and Mid States Championship Wrestling continues to grow—and it has now gained the support of one of professional wrestling’s largest international alliances.

The Allied Independent Wrestling Federations has officially accepted the challenge to support the Cauliflower Alley Club. However, the AIWF is taking that commitment one important step further by challenging every promotion within its worldwide organization to join the campaign and help raise funds for the CAC.

According to information recently published by AIWF Wrestling, the alliance now includes more than 150 promotions operating across 54 countries. That represents an incredible opportunity to unite independent wrestling organizations, promoters, wrestlers, referees, announcers, staff members and fans behind a cause that benefits the wrestling community.

SICW Promoter and Cauliflower Alley Club Executive Board Member Herb Simmons, Mid States Championship Wrestling Promoter Jason Jones and AIWF Executive Director Matt Creed are joining together to deliver one clear message:
“If every organization represented by the AIWF accepts this challenge, think about the difference we could make. More than 150 promotions working together could raise a tremendous amount of money for the Cauliflower Alley Club.

Those funds could help the CAC continue assisting members of the wrestling family during times of illness, hardship and unexpected need.”

The possibilities are powerful. If each AIWF promotion raised only $100, the combined effort could generate more than $15,000 for the CAC. If each promotion raised $500 through an event, raffle, donation drive or membership campaign, the total could exceed $75,000.
Those figures demonstrate what can happen when the wrestling business comes together for a common purpose.
“This is not about one promotion attempting to receive recognition,” Simmons, Jones and Creed stated. “It is about every organization doing its part to give back to the business we love.

Whether a promotion is large or small, every membership and every donation matters. Collectively, we can ease some of the financial burden placed upon the CAC Executive Board and strengthen the organization’s ability to help those in need.”
The Cauliflower Alley Club has spent generations honoring the legends of professional wrestling, preserving its history and extending assistance to members of the wrestling community facing difficult circumstances. The CAC’s mission belongs to the entire wrestling business, and its continued success depends upon memberships, donations and support from promoters, wrestlers and fans.

Simmons and Jones originally challenged wrestling promotions across America, Canada and beyond to become part of this important effort. By accepting the challenge, Matt Creed and the AIWF have dramatically expanded its potential reach.
“We are asking every AIWF member organization to step forward,” Creed said. “Encourage your wrestlers, staff members and fans to become members of the
Cauliflower Alley Club.

Hold a fundraiser, make a donation or select one event during the year to help support the CAC. No effort is too small when more than 150 organizations are standing together.”

Simmons added that the territory system may no longer exist exactly as older generations remember it, but alliances such as the AIWF demonstrate that independent promotions can still work together and support one another.
“This is an opportunity to create a new kind of territory system—one built around friendship, cooperation and giving back,” Simmons said. “Imagine more than 150 promotions working together to help the people who helped build this business. That is what the Ring of Friendship is all about.”
Jones agreed, emphasizing that promoters have the ability to influence their locker rooms and fan bases.
“Promoters are in a position to lead by example,” Jones said. “If we explain why the CAC is important and encourage our wrestlers and fans to become involved, this challenge can grow far beyond what any one promotion could accomplish by itself.”

SICW, Mid States Championship Wrestling and the AIWF are now calling upon every AIWF-affiliated promotion to accept the challenge.
Become a member. Organize a fundraiser. Encourage your locker room and wrestling fans to participate. Help raise the funds needed to allow the Cauliflower Alley Club to continue honoring the past, supporting the present and protecting the future of professional wrestling.
