This worked once already.

We put out the call for a 10U coach and ended up finding a college kid with a ton of experience who played softball from age 3 to 17. She wasn’t looking for anything fancy. She’s part of this community, loves the game and wanted a way to stay around it.

Perfect.

Now we’ve got another one.

We need a 6U head coach. Tonight.

And before somebody talks themselves out of it because they’re not some softball expert, this is 6U.

You don’t need to have played college ball.

You need to show up. Be organized. Teach the basics. Keep the girls moving. Encourage them. Make it fun. And give a damn about helping them get better.

That’s really it.

PNG Softball has grown like crazy in 2026. More girls are playing, more teams are being formed and that’s exactly what we wanted.

But there’s a flip side to growth.

Somebody has to lead them.

There is absolutely somebody in Mid County who would be great at this and probably hasn’t even considered coaching.

So share this. Send it to somebody. Tag the former player who misses the game. Send it to the dad or mom who’s always helping from the fence anyway.

We’ve got the girls.

We just need one person willing to step up and lead them.

6U tryouts are tonight.

Message us. Let's talk.

“Hard work pays off.”

That’s how we closed out the final Open Practice of the offseason, and I’m proud of what I saw this summer.

We had plenty of talented girls out there sharpening their game, but just as important, I can think of at least 20 girls who showed up this summer having never really thrown a softball or put on a glove.

They kept coming back every Sunday.

They worked on mechanics. They listened. They asked questions. They had great attitudes.

And yesterday, just a few weeks after touching a softball for the first time, some of those same girls were working on proper footwork at shortstop and second base. A few of them even started turning double plays in the middle and understood where their feet needed to go and why. They were understanding "why"...let that sink in.

That’s a huge jump in a short amount of time.

When you put kids around other kids who work hard, effort gets contagious. Attitude is everything! Let's have a good one!

These practices were a success because of the players, parents, coaches and volunteers who kept showing up and helping us run the thing. I also hope some of the moms and dads who jumped in gained a little confidence to coach.

You don’t have to know everything.

Give the girls structure. Pay attention to the details. Care about helping them improve. That goes a long way.

Now the offseason is over.

Tryouts are this week:

We’ve filled every head coaching position except 10U.

And that’s because 10U absolutely blew up.

For the first time ever, we’ll be fielding FOUR 10U teams.

We still need 2 head coaches.

We already have assistant coaches ready to help, so if you know the game, enjoy working with kids and have something to pass on to the next generation, send us a message.

Here we are.

August 23. Registration closes TODAY.

The offseason is officially ending, and fall ball is about to get real.

We’ve got a board meeting today to make coaching selections. Grass to cut. Fields to drag. And tonight at 6:30 PM we’ve got our final offseason Open Practice.

And if you’ve been coming on Sundays, you know this hasn’t been some casual little workout.

We’ve basically built Disneyland for softball every Sunday night.

Multiple coaches. Multiple stations. Different skills. Constant reps. Girls moving, learning, competing, getting better.

It’s been the closest thing you can get to a professional softball camp every single Sunday, and the turnout has been incredible.

Wednesday and Thursday are tryouts. By the weekend, everyone should be hearing from their coaches and practice schedules will start falling into place.

But the extra work doesn’t stop when teams are picked.

We’ll still be out there on weekends getting reps in, and I’d encourage every parent to keep finding little ways to help your daughter improve.

Play catch in the front yard. Hit a bucket. Take ground balls. Throw for 15 minutes.

Because reps matter. They stack up.

Tonight at 6:30 PM we close out an awesome offseason the right way.

I’ll see everybody on the fields.

Alright PNG… I need everybody to play recruiter for about 24 hours. 😂

10U is sitting at 40 girls and FOUR teams, but we want to add about 6 more players to give those teams some extra depth this fall.

And 8U has room for ONE more.

So here’s the assignment:

Text that friend who keeps saying, “I’ve been thinking about signing her up.”

Tag the mom whose daughter has been wanting to play.

Send it to the family that just moved here.

You guys are our best ambassadors. There are girls in our community who would absolutely LOVE softball if somebody would just invite them to come play.

Registration closes TOMORROW.

Let’s find these last few girls and finish this thing strong.
