For the first time ever, the Titans competed at the UIL Academic State Meet!

Today, Julio Cervantes and Jamor Ragan represented Memorial in Literary Criticism, going head-to-head with the very best students in the entire state.

Although we did not come home with medals, both Julio and Jamor earned personal best scores on the biggest stage. Competing at this level is not for the faint of heart. With over 100 students in the testing room, our Titans held their own and finished only 9 points shy of 6th place.
We are leaving Austin full of Titan pride, with our heads held high and our sights already set on earning another trip to State in 2027.

Congratulations, Julio and Jamor! You made Titan history, and we could not be prouder.

Y'all this is so cool! Port Arthur Memorial is attending state for the first time since 1992! 🙀😍 They rocked it out at region, and in TWO WEEKS, they will be in Austin, representing their school in Literary Criticism! DISTRICT COMPETITION – DAY 2 🔥

The Titans showed out on Saturday.
Proud of all 20 competitors who stepped up and competed at a high level. Several performances were right on the edge of the podium—this team came ready.

The Titans Literary Criticism Team is REGIONALS BOUND for the 3rd year in a row!

The team qualified with a first place win. Julio and Jamor also qualified individually.
