🐾❤️ $5 FRIDAY: WE WEATHERED THE STORM, BUT THE WORK DOESN’T STOP! ❤️🐾

What a wild week it’s been! 🌧️

We made it through the tropical storm, and thankfully all of our fosters and foster kitties are SAFE. But rescue didn’t slow down, and we could really use your help getting back on track.

Just this week:

🐾 We completed 3 TNRs, three more community cats fixed, vaccinated and no longer contributing to the cycle of kittens being born outside.

🏥 Winnie’s skin condition has resurfaced, so she needs another round of Depo and Convenia injections to get it back under control.

🐈‍⬛ We took in and vetted two incredibly sweet boys who were abandoned by their previous caretaker. Both tested FIV+ and FeLV+ and came to us with bad upper respiratory infections. Despite everything they’ve been through, they are absolute sweethearts and now they’re getting the care they deserve. ❤️

❤️ Sophie B, Poppy B and Sundrop have also been receiving vet care, including testing, vaccines and bloodwork where needed.

🚗 And NINE cats are heading to Smithville and Austin this weekend to our transfer partners!

Some of those nine are part of a promise we made to a fellow rescuer who recently passed away from cancer after spending decades trapping, fixing, feeding and rescuing community cats.

Before she passed, she entrusted us with helping find placement for the 18 cats she was leaving behind. Some have already found placement, and we recently took the remaining eight into our care.

We promised they wouldn’t be forgotten, and we intend to keep that promise. ❤️

As you can imagine, all of this adds up FAST. Right now, our vet bill is over $1,500, and we need your help knocking it down so we can keep saying YES to the next cat who needs us.

💵 If 300 people give just $5, that’s $1,500!

Five dollars becomes vaccines, testing, medications, TNR, bloodwork, treatment for sick cats, gas for transport and ultimately, another cat getting a chance. 🐾

🐾 DRAKE HAS MOVED INTO Petsense by Tractor Supply… AND HE HAS DEMANDS. 😂

Drake is officially hanging out at Petsense in Orange, TX, waiting for his forever family to come spring him from the joint. 🩶

For those who don’t know Drake’s story, this handsome little weirdo started out as a TNR kitty. We fully intended to return him to his outdoor life… until Drake basically said, “Absolutely not. I have decided I enjoy indoor plumbing and room service.”

Turns out, underneath that cautious exterior was a sweet, friendly boy who just needed a little time and patience.

Now, Drake can be a little shy when you first meet him. He likes to conduct a thorough background check before deciding whether you’re worthy of his affection.

There IS, however, a loophole.

🚨 CHURU. 🚨

Drake is absolutely KOO-KOO FOR CHURU. 😂

Forget trust-building exercises. Forget taking things slow. Crack open one of those magical meat tubes and suddenly Drake is like:

“I have reviewed your application and you are now my best friend.”

His love can apparently be bought, and fortunately, it’s pretty cheap. 😂

And then there are THE TEETH. 🦷

Yes, those two tiny bottom teeth sticking out from his bottom gums are supposed to be there.
No, they don’t bother him.
Yes, they make him look slightly like he forgot to put his dentures in.
And YES, we are obsessed with them.

🚨 MADELINE BUSTED OUT OF HER KENNEL AT Petsense by Tractor Supply! 🚨

…JK. 😂 We let her out.

But judging by the way she took off exploring the store, Madeline definitely thought she had pulled off the escape of the century.

First stop: 🐠 the fish. Obviously.

Then she made her rounds through Petsense like she owned the place—checking out the cat trees, strolling down the food aisles, investigating the merchandise and even hopping up at the register to see if they were hiring. 😂

And can we PLEASE take a moment to appreciate those majestic ear tufts?! 😭👑 This girl is walking around looking like a tiny woodland lynx who has important business to attend to.

Which makes us ask, once again…

HOW HAS MADELINE NOT BEEN ADOPTED YET?!

She’s gorgeous, curious, funny, confident, and full of personality. She’s got the fluffy tail. She’s got the stripes. She’s got the MAJESTIC EAR TUFTS. What more do y’all want from her?! 😂

Madeline is ready for a home of her own and a family to go on adventures with.

Our rescue kitties have a few requests this Wednesday: full bellies and LOTS of toys! 😹💕

With so many cats and kittens in our care, we go through food quickly—and toys are more than just fun! They help keep our fosters active, entertained, socialized, and happy while they wait for their forever homes. 🐱🧶

Weeble got adopted from Petsense yesterday, and we couldn’t wait to check in and see how our quirky little guy was settling into his new home. 🥹🐾💕

Well… it sounds like Weeble has officially taken over. 😂

His new family says he has already explored every inch of the house, chewed on some fingers, and has been purring loud enough for the neighbors to hear. And best of all? They are absolutely over the moon for him! ❤️

Weeble is one of those kittens who is just delightfully quirky, ridiculously cute, and impossible not to love. Seeing him find a family who already adores everything about him makes our hearts so happy.

It sounds like this little guy knew exactly where he belonged. 🏡🐈‍⬛

Happy forever, Weeble! We think you and your new family hit the jackpot. 💕🐾

🎉🐾 FOUR ADOPTIONS THIS WEEK! 🐾🎉

What a week for Friends of Ferals! Kaleidoscope, Pork-a-Bob, Polly Pocket, and Aladdin all found their forever homes! 🥹🏡❤️

Four cats. Four families. Four brand-new chapters. These are the moments that make all the long days, vet visits, fundraising, fostering, worrying, cleaning, and behind-the-scenes work worth it.

We are so thankful for the families who chose to adopt and give these babies homes of their very own. And, as always, a HUGE thank you to our fosters, volunteers, donors, and supporters who help us get them from rescue to ADOPTED! 💕

It truly takes a village to give these cats their happy endings, and we’re so grateful for ours.

Happy tails, Kaleidoscope, Pork-a-Bob, Polly Pocket & Aladdin! 🐾❤️ We hope your new families are ready for a lifetime of cat hair, questionable decisions, and being told what to do by a tiny furry dictator. 😂

💔 We are heartbroken to share that Turbo didn’t make it.

Turbo fought so incredibly hard. And so did every single person who stepped up to help him. In the end, his little body just couldn’t fight anymore, and he passed in the loving lap of his foster mom. He left this world safe, warm, and knowing he was loved.

This loss comes just days after we said goodbye to another kitten in our care, Monday, who passed away earlier this week. Losing two kittens in one week is absolutely heartbreaking. Two little lives we fought desperately to save. Two babies who deserved so much more time.

We hoped with everything we had that Turbo would make it.

He fought. He fought so hard.

His foster fought for him. His veterinary team fought for him. His previous caretaker recognized that he needed help and reached out. Everyone who had a hand in Turbo’s care wanted desperately to see this little boy survive.

Unfortunately, sometimes even when everyone does everything they possibly can, it still isn’t enough.

And what makes this loss even harder is knowing that so much of this suffering is preventable.

Turbo’s mom is scheduled to be spayed Monday. She will never have to endure another pregnancy or go through the heartbreak of losing another litter.

This is why we take spay and neuter so seriously.

Please don’t let Turbo’s death be in vain.

Spay your pets. Neuter your pets. Support TNR. If you feed community cats, getting them fixed is part of caring for them. If you know someone who needs help getting their cats fixed, help them find resources.

We cannot rescue our way out of overpopulation. We have to prevent the suffering before it begins.

Turbo’s life was short, but his life mattered. Monday mattered. They both deserved the chance to grow up.

Rest easy, sweet Turbo. 🐾🌈

You fought so hard, little man. And everyone around you fought just as hard. You were loved until your very last breath.

On Monday, we’ll make sure your mama never has to experience the heartbreak of another litter again.

Please spay and neuter. For Turbo. For Monday. For all the ones we couldn’t save. 💔

Lite-Brite came to us through animal control, and she has been making up for lost time ever since by filling every room with playful kitten energy.

Lite-Brite is a cheerful, playful kitten with three main interests:

2. Wrestling with other kittens.
3. Finding out what everyone else is doing and immediately deciding she should be involved.

She is great with kids, cats and dogs, and she’s always ready for cuddles after a long day of kitten activities—which is exhausting work when you have to sprint through the house for no reason, attack a toy that was minding its own business and inspect every bag that makes a crinkling sound.

Lite-Brite believes every closed door is a personal insult and every meal is merely a warm-up for the next meal.

🐾 ETCH-A-SKETCH 🐾

Etch-a-Sketch was found under an overpass during a storm, but you would never know it from her fearless, curious personality. She has clearly decided that surviving the storm was only the beginning of her adventures.

Etch-a-Sketch is a tiny explorer with a big personality and absolutely no respect for the laws of physics.

One moment, she’s across the room.

The next moment, she’s beside you.

You didn’t see her move.

Nobody saw her move.

She simply appeared, like a furry little glitch in the matrix.

Etch-a-Sketch loves chasing toys, investigating every corner and conducting surprise inspections of anything you hoped to keep private. She may also appear in boxes, bags, laundry baskets and locations previously believed to be kitten-free.

Once she has completed her daily rounds of chaos, she’s happy to settle in for affection—because even tiny criminals need cuddles after a hard day of committing adorable misdemeanors.

These two kittens are playful, social and ready to bring love, laughter and absolutely no peace and quiet to their forever homes.

They’re good with kids, cats and dogs, and they can be adopted together or separately.
