Benefit for Billy Van Pelt

12/11/24- Update on Billy and his surgery recovery, everything seemed to be going well besides the swelling up until yesterday.

We had a an appointment today to go and get his stitches out and that did not happen.

Yesterday he woke up and his incision had been bleeding, to save face and make a long story short it went from bleeding but ok to profusely bleeding, his leg really red, hot, and oddly swollen in places that it was earlier even in the evening time. We had to call 911, and he was transferred to St. E in bmt where they ran test per his dr in Houston request, and was given antibiotics to get a jump start on the infection. He was transferred to Houston and we got here around 10:30 this morning.

He has surgery to have his leg cleaned out and possibly repair if it is needed hopefully in the morning but sometime tomorrow. We are still in the ER, waiting for a room to open but not sure if that will even happen before surgery tomorrow.

Specific request-Please pray for Him, myself, our children, & the hospital staff. Pray that his surgery goes smooth and that it ends up being one and done so we can get this behind us and move onto healing for good 🥺😭

Just wanted to update everyone-Billy has his BIG surgery TOMORROW Friday 11/22. They are going to be doing a re-amputation of his leg going 8-9cm shorter, going in and fixing his scar tissue issues, doing a Targeted Muscle Reinnervation Nerve surgery (also known as TMR), and trying to find the neuromas in his legs as well. This surgery is expected to last anywhere from 4-6ish hours. We are being told he will spend anywhere from 2-3 nights in the hospital prior to going home.

A friend of mine set up a meal train to help during this time, and if anyone can and/or is also wanting to help please feel free to sign up for a day in the link below.

Please pray for both doctors performing the 2 surgery’s, as well as the nurses and other hospital staff, a smooth and successful surgery, and that Billys recovery is better than expected! He will be basically starting all over from square one with this surgery.

It was not totaled as Billy took the brunt of the hit. Completely repaired at the HD shop.

There will be a WASHER TOURNAMENT at the "Benefit For Billy Van Pelt” on October 5th. If you want to play, please click the link and complete the attached form. This will allow us to know how many teams will be playing and plan accordingly. In-person registration will also begin at 3:00 PM, and the tournaments will start at 4:15pm PM. You can pay at the benefit when you arrive. The tournament rules are outlined in this same link, so please be sure to read over them. The games will be played as Double elimination.
