THE ANNOUNCEMENT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR: WASHOUT REPAIRS ARE COMPLETE IN ROCHESTER AND THE TRAIL IS FULLY AND OFFICIALLY OPEN!

Massive thanks to the City of Rochester, Michigan; Oakland County, Michigan; and the numerous engineers, contractors, and funders that made this project possible.

Thanks to the trail community for your patience with the closures and detours and for your support during the project.

Work included filling the gap, adding a drainage culvert, and resurfacing the washed out area.

After repairing the washout and the collapse near Diversion St, there was still some funding remaining which was directed toward drainage improvements and a concrete trail surface west of Dequindre.

Note that the Macomb Orchard Trail is still closed between Dequindre and 24 Mile for the GLWA water main project. A minor detour on side paths is required to connect the two trails.
We held a tour and ribbon cutting to mark the occasion.

📢TRAIL DETOUR NOTIFICATION: The City of Rochester Hills- Government will be performing bridge maintenance and repairs on the Clinton River Trail between Livernois Rd and W Hamlin Rd. Beginning October 13, the trail will be closed for about 2 weeks for this work.

Please be respectful of the closures and of the workers doing their jobs. Utilize the detour route, shown in yellow, on the side paths along Livernois and Hamlin. Maintenance like this helps keep the trail in good shape for years to come.

Great news for the city and for the local trail network!

Some folks got a sneak preview of the washout repairs when barricades were down over the weekend. It looks pretty great, huh?

Unfortunately, the trail will need to be closed again between Letica Trailhead and Dequindre Rd so the contractor can install guardrails at the repair site and complete final remediation. The City of Rochester, Michigan says the area will open fully in 2 weeks. Closures may be intermittent. Please use caution and be respectful of closures and of workers completing their tasks.
