Another Rochester trail closure announcement?! We know - we're all ready for the repair project to wrap up. The good news is that we're in the final weeks! As part of the conclusion of the washout repairs, and due to the amount of heavy equipment traffic the trail has seen this summer, the entire trail from Dequindre to just west of Diversion (shown in dark red) will be resurfaced. It'll still be majority natural surface, but it'll be new material, freshly graded, pristine, natural surface. There will be intermittent closures along the trail as contractors complete the work. Please be flexible, be prepared, and respect these closures and the workers doing their jobs over the next 2 weeks or so.

Because of the nature of the work, we don't have a specific detour around each closure, but we recommend traveling within Rochester. Access points are highlighted in blue. Remember that wheeled devices of any kind are no longer allowed to be ridden on the sidewalks along Main St (Rochester Road) between the Clinton River bridge and University Dr.

Huge thanks to the City of Rochester, Michigan - Government and the contractors for all the great work that's gone into the trail this summer. We're looking forward to an amazing fall season.

If you live, work, play, or travel within Rochester Hills, take a few minutes to give feedback on their Blueprint 4 Innovation. There's a survey and an interactive map, and many of the topics are relevant to the trail and the broader active transportation network. Help build the community you want to be a part of!

Repairs just west of Dequindre are underway. Please respect the trail closures to allow the workers to complete the job and to avoid damaging the substrate as it settles. In a month, we'll have a beautiful, connected trail again!

🍂 Fall Classic History Lesson! The Clinton River Trail was officially inaugurated in 2004. Starting in 2005, Friends of the Clinton River Trail (FCRT) began hosting an annual fall ride inviting riders to enjoy the quickly evolving trail. Each year saw new developments along the trail and the annual Fall Classic Ride developed a notable following of repeat riders. Participation rose from a few dozen riders initially to roughly 300 folks involved in the 2014 ride. And, by that time route options had expanded up to 40 miles. Then in 2015, in an effort to further expand ridership, FCRT joined forces with a commercial tour operator, Motor City Brew Tours, and partnered with Friends of the Paint Creek Trail to present an annual Crusin’ for the Trails Ride which featured the CRT, the Paint Creek Trail, and of course, some adult beverages. Unfortunately, the ‘Crusin’ ride had to be suspended after 2019. We're now excited to bring the event back for 2026! Sign up for this year's ride by September 1 to lock in your t-shirt!

Please be aware: The City of Rochester, Michigan has installed a physical barrier at the Stony Creek Bridge. The trail is CLOSED between there and Dequindre. If you've been circumventing closure signs to use the trail, you will no longer be able to do so. The city and contractors need the area clear of trail traffic for the remainder of the project. They estimate it will take 1 more month to put down the final trail surface and to complete repairs and paving at the chronic wet spot west of Dequindre. If we all work together, our trail will be back open for Fall. Check our interactive map for details: clintonrivertrail.org/interactivemap
