The next generation of pug lovers ❤️

One of the things I love most about rescue is seeing young people discover just how special rescuing is. Our foster family, Sarah and Steve, have neighbor kids who absolutely LOVE meeting all of the new rescue pugs and helping them along the way. Not only are they becoming huge pug lovers, but they’re also seeing firsthand the difference that rescuing a pug can make.

To make it even more special, Sarah and Steve surprised them with Coastal Pug Rescue shirts and some fun pug gifts. How awesome is that?!

They’ve been part of the journey for so long that if you’ve been following us for a while, you might remember Coco. This sweet girl completely fell in love with her and still talks about Coco to this day.

Rescue isn’t just changing the lives of pugs. It’s inspiring the next generation to make a difference too.

Our fosters truly make a difference, one pug at a time. 🐾

Just looks like a cute picture of pugs chilling, right?

It’s so much more than that.

What this picture ACTUALLY is, is Finn and Charlotte coexisting with other pugs. These two were absolutely terrified of other dogs. Tails tucked, hiding under things, and taking comfort only in each other. It’s been a very slow introduction to the pack.

Knowing they were bitten by a big dog this past year, you can see why they would be scared.

Today they made a huge turnaround. The other pugs could walk right past them and they didn’t flee. It could make me cry. Honestly, it did lol.

We are changing pugs’ lives one pug at a time. ❤️

Welcome Marley to Coastal Pug Rescue! 🩵

This adorable 6 year old girl has already stolen our hearts. She’ll be heading in for her intake exam so we can get her everything she needs and make sure she’s up to date on her medical care. The good news is she seems to be a pretty healthy girl!

She is carrying a few extra pounds, so we’ll help her get to a healthier weight, and then she’ll be ready to start looking for her forever family. Stay tuned for updates on sweet Marley! 🐾

Did you know June is National Foster a Pet Month? 🐾

Fosters are the heart of rescue. Without foster homes, we simply can’t help all of the amazing pugs that need us.

Let’s have a conversation! Drop your questions, concerns, or reasons you’ve never fostered below, and we’ll answer them.

But let’s tackle two of the biggest ones right now...

💙 “I’ll fall in love with them.”

The nice answer? Of course you will! But let’s be honest, you’d probably fall in love with any pug you met. The incredible part is watching a scared, neglected, or homeless pug transform into a happy, loved family member and knowing you played a huge role in making that happen. There really is no greater feeling.

The honest answer? Would you rather they stay in a bad situation or sit in a shelter because you might fall in love with them? These pugs need someone willing to step up and help them get to their forever home. Falling in love is part of the journey.

💙 “We live too far away.”

There are rescues all across the country looking for fosters, including pug rescues! If you’re not local to us, we encourage you to find a rescue near you and get involved. Foster homes save lives everywhere.

Jackson. Oh, Jackson. 💙

We need to find you the perfect home.

The thing about Jackson is that he needs a little time. He needs someone willing to let him go at his own pace and show him that he's safe, loved, and never has to be afraid again. But once you earn his trust, wow... it's something special.

Give him a couple of weeks and he'll be putty in your hands. He melts into you like butter and becomes one of the cuddliest pugs I've ever met. The trust he gives is a gift, and watching him learn to love again has been incredible.

Honestly, if I didn't run a pug rescue, I would adopt him myself. He is that sweet.

And as a bonus, you get to adopt Sophia too. 😊 Sophia is the funniest, sweetest little girl and keeps us laughing every day. She brings so much joy wherever she goes.

These two deserve a family that will give them the time, patience, and love they've always deserved. 🐾
