This week we are highlighting our U10 Coaches! This is an exciting season for this team as they have hit the ice with force, being bumped up to tier 2 after dominating the start to their season.

U10 is a pivotal year for young players, especially for those playing full ice for the first time. As a coach, the focus for development is on passing and positioning and requires a whole lot of patience! Who better to help these young players than this group of gentlemen. We are so happy to introduce our U10 coaches for this year !

Coach Pat: ( him again??) This is his second year coaching with us and has two kids with the program, one on U8 Green and on U10. He grew up playing hockey and still skates around for men's league every once in a while as goalie and forward. His favorite part of coaching is that he loves watching the kids improve over the season!

Coach Rob ( often seen with a lit up pumpkin hat): This is Rob's first season with us and he has been playing competitive hockey all his life! He has three kiddos playing, one on U10 and two younger players that will be starting with Learn to Play this year. Rob's favorite thing about coaching is getting to teach, not only his son but the other players about the great game of hockey!

Coach Jay: This is Jay's second season coaching with us. Jay grew up playing hockey and went on to play college hockey. He also dabbles in mens league when he has time. He has one player on the U10 team. His favorite part about coaching is that he loves seeing the development and watching the kids work so hard at practice and that then leading to success during a game where they see it pay off with a pass to a team mate that may lead to a goal. He loves seeing the look on their faces and the huge smile that says it all and shows ho much they are having fun.

Coach Billy ( last but not least): Billy has been coaching with the Panthers for 5 seasons ( whoa) and has three players with the program- one n U14, one on U10 and one starting with Learn to Play this season. He also coaches our U14 team! He grew up playing competitive hockey in the lakes region all through high school and beyond.

Good luck this season in tier 2!

Hello Jr Panthers Families! Over the next couple of weeks we will be doing spotlights on our coaches! We wanted to share more about the humans who you see on the ice every practice and game.

U8 Coach's Spotlight:

This week we are starting with this group of goofballs- Our U8 Coaches! This is our largest coaching group as we have two U8 teams this year. U8 is a special year for kids as this is where they find the fun! Our goal is to make sure each player has as much fun as possible while developing and gaining confidence. As you will see, all of our coaches want the same thing!

Coach Justin: You will meet him in the U10 Spotlight, but he's great and has been helping with the U8 green team this year in addition to helping coach the U10 team.

Coach Kim ( AKA Coach Momski): This is Kim's second year coaching at the U8 Level. She has three kids in the program ( U8 Green, U10 and U12) and although she has never played hockey, she gives out pretty good high fives! She has served on the board for the Jr Panthers for three years as Secretary and Fundraising human. Her favorite part of coaching youth hockey is seeing the kids gain confidence every time they master a new skill, and seeing the bonds the players create with each other as they grow up.

Coach Pat: This is Pat's second season coaching with the Jr Panthers. He is also our resident Goalie Coach. He splits his time between the U8 Green team and our U10 team. He has two kids in the program one on the U8 Green team and his other son is one of the goalies for our U10 team. He has always played hockey, specifically goalie and forward. Pat loves coaching youth hockey because he loves watching the kids improve over the season.

Coach Dave: Dave has been coaching with the Jr Panthers for 9 years now ( whoa) and has served as Board President for the past 3 years. Dave grew up playing travel hockey and high school hockey in RI. He son started at Plymouth and his daughter currently plays for the U8 Green team. Dave's favorite part of coaching is watching the players grow, improve and build confidence week after week. He loves giving back to the hockey community and sharing his passion for the game! At the end of the day he just loves hockey!

Coach Mike: Mike joined the Jr Panthers last year help with our Learn to Play program and this season he is coaching our U8 White team helping them build their confidence and skills. He has 1 kiddo in the program on the U8 White team. He grew up playing hockey and has played NCAA College hockey. His favorite thing about coaching is watching the kids develop!

Coach Ed: Ed joined us last year with the Learn to Play program as well. This year he is helping coach our U8 White team. He has one kiddo joining Learn to Play this season and one on the U8 White team. Ed grew up playing hockey through travel teams and club hockey at WPI. Ed's favorite thing about coaching youth hockey is helping build the players' confidence and sharing his love for the game.

Coach Jeff: This is Jeff's second year coaching with us. He currently coaches the U8 White team! He has two kiddos in the program, one on the U8 White team and the goalie for our U12 team. Jeff grew up playing hockey and loves to share his love for the game. He also loves to see the smiles on the players faces when they finally achieve something they have been working on- nothing better!

Thank you, U8 coaches, for having a great sense of humor and keeping our youngest group of players smiling!
