On Tuesday, student leaders from the Life of a Bear program at Newfound Middle School spent the morning volunteering at the Bristol Elementary School Field Day. Students helped with field games while mentoring younger students.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our student leaders to give back, build connections with younger students, and demonstrate what it means to be a Bear. Thank you to our Life of a Bear leaders and their advisor, Mrs. Williams, for making the day so much fun for everyone involved!

Wishing all of our 2026 graduates a wonderful graduation on Saturday.

It's graduation season, and many parents have concerns about their kids going to parties where alcohol is being served. The vast majority of adults are not okay with their kids drinking underage. Find tips and resources to help keep everyone safe during celebrations on our 'Safe Celebrations' webpage: https://drugfreenh.org/for-families/safe-celebrations/

90% of addiction starts in the teenage years. We need to continue to refocus the conversation on substance use from the last day to the first. To share struggle and know you are not alone.

UPDATED registration link!

Bridge Academy is a fun, engaging four-day summer learning experience designed to help students feel confident and prepared for the transition to high school.

Throughout the program, students build essential “high school survival skills” they can keep in their personal toolbox, everything from journaling, art, and exercise to time management and organization strategies. These skills help students develop healthy ways to manage stress, stay balanced, and navigate new challenges.

In addition to skill-building, Bridge Academy introduces students to the routines and expectations of high school life, including schedules, class bells, lockers, and a full campus tour. This early exposure helps ease uncertainty and shows students that planning ahead can make a big difference in feeling prepared and confident on the first day of school.

Come join us, it’s a great way to connect, learn, and have fun… and yes, it’s credit-bearing too!

These NRHS student leaders spent time building their mentoring skills and preparing to welcome the Class of 2030 into our school community. Their commitment to helping younger students feel connected, supported, and successful is truly inspiring.

Research shows that connection is one of the strongest protective factors for youth. By creating meaningful relationships and fostering a sense of belonging, our mentors help make Newfound a place where every student feels seen, valued, and supported.

We are grateful for this outstanding group of students who are choosing to lead through service, kindness, and connection. We can't wait to see the positive impact they will have on next year's freshmen!

Thank you to Deb and Trevor Hult from Core Trainings for leading us today!

From first school pictures… to homework at the kitchen table… to practices, performances, games, concerts, late-night projects, early mornings, and countless rides… You helped them get here.

Tonight is a celebration of all they’ve accomplished—and all that lies ahead.
And here’s something important to remember: Most teens choose not to use alcohol or other substances during prom weekend.

When parents set clear expectations, stay connected, and support one another in creating substance-free celebrations, our students are more likely to make safe, healthy choices.

Celebrate this milestone. Take the pictures. Enjoy the memories. And join other Newfound families in helping keep prom weekend safe, healthy, and substance-free.
