There's a weariness that can't be fixed by sleep, or doomscrolling, or anything else we might try to help us rest. If you feel this kind of weariness, listen to what Jesus says to you.

Why does AFLC Youth Ministries exist? Because Jesus is calling teenagers through the gospel and inviting them into a congregational life where they are always receiving and always living for Him. We are here to help congregations share that call and invitation—to help them win, build, equip, and multiply teen disciples, not just as the future of the church, but as the church NOW. We're here with summer youth events, youth worker training, education resources, congregational consulting, encouragement, and prayer.

Has God put it on your heart to participate in this mission? Please pray for our ministry as we continue to serve youth and the adults ministering to them, and consider giving a gift to help support our staff and events. Learn more on our website here:

"I feel I have a deeper understanding of what happens to someone who lets God transform them and take a hold of their life."
"[I learned that] Christ transforms us to better fulfill his will and glorify him instead of ourselves."
"It gave me a new perspective on how to handle tough questions about faith and other mainstream topics."
"God loves us no matter what we do."

—Student takeaways from FLY Beyond 2024

By providing teen-focused events like FLY Beyond and practical and spiritual support for youth workers, AFLC Youth Ministries encourages local congregations to WIN teens to Christ, to BUILD teen believers in God’s truth and love, to EQUIP teen workers to live and share their faith, and to MULTIPLY maturing disciples in Jesus Christ. We're thrilled to have Pastor Brent Olson join us at FLY Beyond this year as our morning Bible study leader. 🙌

Pastor Olson currently lives in Robbinsdale, MN, about 14 minutes down the road from the Bible College. His dad was a pastor in the AFLC, serving in Grafton, ND; Canton, SD; and Fergus Falls, MN.

After becoming a pastor himself, Pastor Olson served at Ruthfred Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh, PA for 5 years, and has been a professor at the Bible College and Seminary for 14 years.

In his morning sessions at FLY Beyond, he will be tracing the Old Testament background of Peter's reference to Christians as "living stones." "It's really interesting," he says, "how the Lord inspires Peter (and Paul) to understand that the stone/rock passages in the Old Testament point to Christ and His Church. Ultimately, my objective is for the students to recognize the incredible honor and security of knowing their place among the Stone and stones."

Pastor Olson is praying for the students who will be attending, that the Lord will enlighten the eyes of their hearts, that they might see and know deep down the heights and depths of His grace and love for them, especially as revealed in the Cornerstone, Jesus.

He also encourages them to be thinking about some of the amazing stone/rock passages in the Old Testament and how they may point to Christ and His Church (e.g. Joshua 4:5-7; Exodus 17:6; Isaiah 8:14, 26:4, and 28:16; and Psalm 118:22). "The Lord is not only the great artist of Creation," Pastor Olson says. "He's also the great artist of History. It's awe-inspiring to see how He writes the story."
