Our summer intern Madi spent the day with kindergarten students at Federal Furnace Elementary sharing the message behind our upcoming StoryWalk book, โ€œPip the Plover and the Dune Grass Pathโ€. ๐Ÿ“–

The students had conversations about piping plovers, why protecting endangered species matters, and simple ways they can help keep nesting habitat safe this summer. After reading the book together, each class created a pledge with ideas for protecting plovers and the kids came up with some thoughtful responses! Great job Madi for engaging these young minds! ๐Ÿค—

Weโ€™re excited to continue the conversation this weekend and hope families will join us for this special StoryWalk to see what the students learned and celebrate our local coastal wildlife together.

Kickoff event this Saturday, 6/6 from 10AMโ€“12PM at Center Hill Preserve (beach side)! Come meet the author, Kate Walsh - Powers and check out Plymouth DNRโ€™s mobile wildlife exhibit! The StoryWalk itself will be up through mid-July. The end of this trail will not disappoint! ๐ŸŒŠ ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŒพ ๐ŸŒบ

Join us this Saturday 10am-noon at Center Hill Preserve!

Join us at Center Hill Preserve (beach side) for our kickoff of our new StoryWalk featuring featuring Pip the Plover by Kate Powers. Stop by anytime between 10am or 12pm! StoryWalk will be up until Saturday, July 10.

As a treat, Kate Powers will also be there at our kickoff event! Come say hi and meet the author of this adorable book about courage, kindness, and caring for the natural world!

This a partnership between Plymouth Public Library, Plymouth Open Space Committee, Sustainable Plymouth and Plymouth's Department of Energy and Environment. All ages welcome and no registration required. StoryWalk can be accessed anytime between June 6 and July 10.

At the end of the StoryWalk, there is a short survey you can access through a QR code. Please fill out this brief form upon completion of the story. This helps us decide if we should do more StoryWalks in future!

Have you ever thought about where rain goes after a storm? โ›ˆ๏ธ

Not all surfaces handle rain the same. Grass, soil, trees, and native plants help water soak naturally into the ground, while pavement and concrete increase runoff.

Cleaner streets mean cleaner water! Here are a few simple ways you can help:

- Pick up pet waste ๐Ÿ’ฉ
- Plant native plants ๐ŸŒฑ
- Clear debris from storm drains ๐Ÿ‚
- Plant more trees ๐ŸŒฒ
