Good morning …

Your Search for Peace

To whom He said, “This is the rest with which you may cause the weary to rest,” and, “This is the refreshing”; yet they would not hear.
Isaiah 28:12

People today struggle with tremendous pressure and in such stressful times tend to become very weary.
That is why Christ invites us by saying, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”
(Matt. 11:28). Yet, instead of accepting this offer, many of us still try to find man-made solutions to our problems in our own strength.
Regardless of how busy we are, we must make time to withdraw from the demands of the day and spend time quietly at the feet of the Master. We must focus on Him and His love. Regardless of how demanding and frantic our lives may be, in the quietness we will be strengthened by God’s peace.

I have such a need for Your rest, Lord. Help me to be strengthened in the peace of Your presence.

Good morning …

God’s Love Is Unfailing

“For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?”
2 Samuel 22:32

Often when people are experiencing problems, or if they need advice, they turn to a friend for help. But human effort always falls short.
If we find ourselves in difficult situations, we must not underestimate the power and love of God. Complete healing flows from an absolute and unconditional trust in, and surrender to, the living Christ. It doesn’t matter what our problems are, the only lasting solutions are to be found in the unfathomable love which God, through Jesus, bestowed on humanity.
We must never be too proud or too afraid to turn to Jesus. We must lay all our problems at His feet. He gave His life for us and will grant us the healing balm of His peace.

Lord, I want to hold on to You when the storm winds blow and I feel insecure. Grant me Your peace.

Good morning …

Heavenly Peace

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27

The peace that Jesus offers His followers differs from human peace and allows us to look at life through God’s eyes. When we do this, the worldly things suddenly do not seem to be that important. What God thinks of us, and how we relate to God, forms the foundation for our peace.
We need His peace in our everyday lives as well as in our inner beings. The Lord does not want us to stress about what is happening around us. So in all the confusion and chaos of daily life, we must look away from the world and look up to God. He is waiting to grant us His peace and love.

Prince of Peace, thank You that I know for certain that You have not only redeemed me, but that You also grant me Your heavenly peace.

Good morning …

Peace in the Storm

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You.
Isaiah 26:3

If we allow our thoughts to dwell on the things that are happening in the world today, we run the risk of being caught up in a whirlpool of hatred, bitterness and fear.
Yet, when our faith threatens to falter, God gives us the power to believe that all things will work out for the good of those who love Him. Peace is the direct result of trust. When our faith in God is sure, we receive an inner calm that brings balance to our lives. We must put God first in all things and we will know His peace and joy, even in the most trying circumstances.

Almighty God, thank You that with You at the center of my life I fear no storms, not even problems as threatening as hurricanes.

Good morning …

Take Your Worries to God

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:34

Many people like to sit and brood over their problems. If we do this, we allow worry to flourish and then we lose hope.
We should write down our worries clearly and simply. Then, we must calmly pray about each one and scale them down to their real size. We must prayerfully confirm that God is in control of every situation and that worry will no longer affect our tranquility and peace of mind.
The secret is to take our burdens to God in prayer. If we take this step today we will discover that we are prohibiting worry and anxiety from clouding our future because we will discover that Christ is all-sufficient for our needs, today and tomorrow.

Savior, I praise and thank You that You protect me and lead me into a pleasant future.

Good morning …

I Know for Certain

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the one who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6

It is important to have someone we can rely on and turn to in times of trouble. Yet sometimes even the closest friends can disappoint us.
Our Lord and Master will never let us down, however. If we need comfort, the Lord will comfort us. If we need guidance, the Lord will guide us. If we need inspiration for a difficult task, the Lord will inspire us.
If the road ahead of us seems to be strewn with problems, concerns and troubles, then we must ask the Lord to help us and we will discover that He is as faithful as His Word promises.

God my Father, thank You that I have the assurance that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Forgive me for the times when I’ve failed and disappointed You.

Good morning …

Peace in the Storm

Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them,
“Peace to you.”
Luke 24:36

The stress, horror and inner conflict we may experience in life causes our peace to disappear, leaving us moody and discontent.
That is why we need to develop inner reserves from which to draw strength in difficult situations. When things go wrong and stress starts to overwhelm us, we must purposefully refuse to be swept into its current. We must guard against bad temper and irritability.
We must deliberately choose to remain tranquil by controlling our thoughts. We must spend some time in God’s presence, reaffirm our dependence on Him, and soon our spirit will become calm and His peace will refresh our lives.

Eternal God who gives me peace in Jesus Christ, lead me to quiet waters where there is peace in the midst of the bustle of life.

Peace Amidst Chaos

Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
2 Peter 3:13

In times of crisis many people tend to collapse in defeat against what they perceive to be impossible problems. But to everyone who believes in Him, Jesus offers a life of abundance.
The Lord offers us His Holy Spirit if we surrender ourselves to Him. It is His Spirit who gives us the ability to handle life’s problems successfully. Whatever our circumstances may be, we must remember that Jesus is constantly at our side, guiding us and helping us. We must place our trust in Him as He leads us, and remember that He is guiding us toward God’s eternal kingdom where there is only harmony and peace.

Beloved Guide, I know that this life’s struggles and problems will soon pass, and then I will enter into the eternal peace of Your kingdom.

Believing without Seeing

So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:6-7

When we are faced with difficult situations and problems, do we trust God to make everything work together for good?
Jesus came to confirm that God loves us unconditionally. His care, help and compassion are unquestionable. If we are sure of this, then we will be assured that Christ will not allow anything to harm us. He wants what’s best for us. With this assurance we can trust God unconditionally in everything we undertake.

Lord, take me to the place where Your perfect peace surrounds me, and I trust You in all things.

Through Him
Who Strengthens Me

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.
Jeremiah 17:7

Everybody is searching for peace. No one can avoid the strain of life or the severe stress it brings with it. Jesus radiated love, serenity and peace; no matter how turbulent or chaotic the circumstances were around Him.
This was the result of His intimate relationship with His Father. Jesus regularly withdrew in solitude to pray and pour out His heart to His Father. Then He was able to return to a stormy life with the peace of heaven in His heart.
Whatever life may have in store for us, we will be victorious in His strength because, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”

You are my Keeper, O Lord. I place myself under Your control and in Your care. That is why I am assured of Your peace.
