Good morning …

Secure in God

Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You will endure; yes, they will all grow old like a garment; like a cloak You will change them, and they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will have no end.
Psalm 102:25-27

Are we going through a time of great affliction and misery? We must allow the words of this Scripture verse to soothe our worried souls and provide a ray of hope in our desperate situations.
We must remember, as believers, we are children of God. This God rises above all our problems, as well as above time and space. He is willing and able to keep His children safe and to let them live in His holy presence forever.
Should we find ourselves in distress today because of the problems of life, then we must let God know of our anxieties and thank Him for providing stability in our ever-changing world.

O God, my refuge and my fortress, thank You for the security that You bring into my life.

Good morning …

Rest in God’s Care

Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You from those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of your wings.
Psalm 17:7-8

We are the apple of the Lord’s eye. God will protect us because He will answer our cries of distress; He is bending down, compassionate and interested in our prayers.
We must believe in our hearts that God will use His power to protect us. When we look to God with expectation, we receive the protection we so desperately seek.
We must let this Scripture verse remind us that God is willing and able to protect us faithfully. He is the only One who can truly shield and protect us, so we must lay our cares at His feet.

I thank You, Almighty God, that You protect me as the apple of Your eye. Hide me in the shadow of Your wings.

Good morning …

Stay Close to the
Shepherd

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4

Scripture never tries to hide the dark shadows of life — not even death. This Scripture verse describes how God is always with us, even in the valley of the shadow of death. Therefore we should fear no evil because God is with us.
From time to time we should recall the moments in our lives where God was with us in the valley. We must stay close to Him because He will always be with us, through the rest of the year and for the rest of our lives, because He promised to never leave us.

Omnipresent God, even when I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear, because I know that You are always close to me.

Let Your Hand Rest
on Your People

Then we will not turn back from You; revive us, and we will call upon Your name. Restore us,
O Lord God of hosts; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!
Psalm 80:18-19

When we come to the end of our own reserves and find ourselves worn out, there is only one place to which we can flee for refuge. God is our only hope for strength.
God created us to fellowship with Him; He wants us to call on His name. We are the branches of His vine and therefore we are completely dependent on the One who planted
us — God Himself.
We must thank God for the refuge He offers us and for the love that He showers on us. And when we feel that we cannot go any further, we must ask Him once again to renew our strength for the road that we must follow.

Provider God, let Your holy countenance shine down on us in love and provide our basic needs.

Good morning …

God Is My Refuge

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalm 119:105

In this Scripture verse, the lamp symbolizes the guidance, wisdom and knowledge that we find in the Word. This life is like a dark wilderness through which we must find a way and, just as a lamp helps a traveler in the dark, the Word is a light on our path so we will not stumble.
We must pray for light and truth from God’s Word so that we can stay on the path of life. We must ask God to guide us through the situations that could become stumbling blocks on our spiritual path and commit ourselves anew to Him and His Word today.

Thank You, merciful God, that You light up my dark path with the light of Your Word. Help me to use Your light each day.

Good morning …

Your Love, 0 Lord,
Endures Forever

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands.
Psalm 138:7-8

Sometimes we might face a situation where it seems as if God has abandoned us when we need Him most, but if we have faith, we know that that is not true.
“The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me.” We must cling to this truth in times of trial and trouble because we know that the Lord will never neglect His children — the works of His hands.
In our prayer time today, we should thank God for the good plan He has for our lives. In those dark moments when it seems as if He has forsaken us, we must remember that God is faithful and we can never drift away from His love.

Loving God, protect me from the anger of my enemies. Thank You that there is no end to Your love.

Good morning …

My Help Comes
from the Lord

Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many are they who say of me,
“There is no help for him in God.” But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.
Psalm 3:1-3, 5

If enemies are pursuing us and trying to make us doubt the power of God’s deliverance by saying,
“God will not deliver us,” then we must do what David did — call on God, who is our shield and protection. If we do this, then we will be able to lie down and sleep in peace, because God will watch over us.
There is no need to ever be afraid because God is our protector. He always looks after His children; He will never stop looking after us.

Lord, my loving God, I know that You watch over me because You are my shield and protection.

Good morning …

Our Hiding Place

The Lord will also be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You,Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Psalm 9:9-10

David went through intense suffering in his life. He was a fugitive from King Saul, the mightiest man in the land, and on one occasion even his own son turned against him.
Therefore, when David praised God for being a refuge for people in danger, he was not talking in hypocritical or abstract terms. Placing his trust in God was a matter of life or death for him. And God never let him down.
In times of trial and tribulation, we must remember that God always watches over us. He will never forsake those who call upon Him, nor let them down.

Thank You, mighty God, that we can find a safe refuge in You and that we can hide in You. Thank You that You never turn away those who come to You.

Good morning …

Trust in the Lord Forever

“You will keep Him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trust in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.”
Isaiah 26:3-4

We all want to feel safe from the attack of enemies and strangers. In this prayer of praise from Isaiah, believers declare that their safety is in the Lord.
In biblical times, in Israel, safety meant being able to live in a city with strong walls that would keep the enemy out. However, walls of stone can collapse, but our God will be able to protect and guard the righteous forever. Therefore believers need never fear anyone!
We should allow this Scripture passage to encourage us to focus our thoughts on the Almighty God. We must reaffirm our trust in Him today and experience the peace that this kind of trust can bring.

Sovereign God, help me to focus my thoughts on You and to trust You at all times, because You are my protector and my eternal Rock.
