Good morning …

In the Service of God

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

Some people work tirelessly for God, seldom leaving any free time for themselves. Have we become so involved in God’s work that we’ve lost sight of what God wants us to do?
If we don’t get “topped up” by God regularly, one day something will just wither in our souls, all Christian activities will cease, and lives that may have been of great importance to God are lost.
The most important duty of any Christian worker is to strengthen our relationship with God every day. If we are too busy to spend time with Him in daily prayer then we are simply too busy to be effective servants for Him.

Loving Master, help me not to lose sight of the service You want me to do.
Amen and Amen.

Good morning …

The Person
You Can Become

But as it is written:

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9

There are two sides to our personalities: the person we are, and the person we would like to be. If these are in conflict with each other, we will experience bitter frustration and disappointment.
There is no harm in dreaming about the heights that we can achieve, provided that we take steps to make our dreams a reality. We have the potential for spiritual growth that is beyond our wildest imaginings.
Spiritual greatness can be ours if we live in harmony with God. Our whole life should respond to His love with joy and gratitude.

I pray for inspiration and strength to become all that You created me to be. Help me to grow in You day by day and to fulfill Your vision for my life.
Amen and Amen.

Good morning …

Share in the Life of Christ

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:9

God has called us to share in the life of His Son, Jesus the living Christ — granting us a privilege beyond words.
But with this privilege comes responsibilities. Intimacy with the Father demands that the holy characteristics of God must be revealed in our daily lives by love, honesty, selflessness and integrity of our purpose. If we walk in the truth of this amazing grace, our understanding of God deepens and our vision of what our lives could be broadens.
Once we have this we will never again be limited by secret fears and doubts. Instead we will face the future with confidence in the strength of the living Christ.

Lord, You are the True Vine that gives lasting life. Keep me safe, inspire me and bless me so that I will forever remain fruitful.
Amen and Amen.

Good morning …

Aspire to That
Which Is Noble

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.
Philippians 4:8

Life can be an unpleasant or an exquisite experience, depending on our attitude towards it. When we are confronted with the cruelty of life, it is all too easy to allow it to affect our nature and character.
It requires spiritual sensitivity to consistently appreciate the beauty of life. To appreciate God as the Creator of all that is beautiful and noble, we just only need to look around us. We will discover Him in unexpected places: in the smile of a friend, the innocence of a child, even a subtle act of love. In numerous ways, we will begin to see the wonder and beauty of life.

I bring You humble thanks, O Savior, that through the presence of Your Spirit I can appreciate the beauty and grandeur of life.
Amen and Amen.

Good morning …

The Most
Important Exercise

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”
Luke 6:45

It is the quality of our inner life, not that which we pretend to be, that is significant. For a while we may be able to present a false front, but a time will come when storm clouds gather and we will be put to the test.
Cultivating a practical spiritual life is the most important exercise that one can undertake. It influences every aspect of our life and creates moral stamina, which enables us to rise victoriously above inner weaknesses.
When we live in harmony with God and allow the Holy Spirit to work in us, we will experience a motivating force in our life that will be reflected in our behavior.

Lord, teach me to fix my eyes on You more and more. I want to devote my whole life to You.
Amen and Amen.

Good morning …

Reflect God’s Glory

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.
Ephesians 5:1

Most of us have a role model to which we aspire to be like, whether it is a teacher, a parent, an employer or even a friend, we want to be like them.
Yet, there is a much better role model for us, a perfect role model for us — Jesus Christ. We must never forget that He lived and worked just like us and was subject to all the temptations, frustrations, joys and sorrows to which we are subject to.
We must allow the Holy Spirit to take control of our lives and manage them in a way that is acceptable to God. Then we will display a measure of likeliness to Christ that will glorify God.

Lord, transform me into Your image more and more.
Transfigure me so that I may become more like You in my behavior, thoughts and words.
Amen and Amen.

Spiritual Growth
Does Not Come Naturally

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Romans 8:6

Physical growth is nature’s way of allowing our bodies to develop. Our spiritual nature needs to grow too. Many people ignore this important aspect of their lives because it cannot be observed or measured like our body can. Yet, that does not make it any less important.
The greatest Guide and Advisor that we could ever find is Jesus Christ. He is the revelation of the living God and therefore has a perfect understanding of the problem that we wrestle with. Having a desire for oneness with Christ and yearning for a deeper relationship with Him will result in spiritual growth if we surrender to God completely.

Lord, I can do nothing without You. In You I can grow and gain fulfillment. I wish to remain in You always.
Amen and Amen.

Lord, I have everything I need pertaining to life and godliness, down to the smallest detail. Your will is being done in my life here on earth just as it is in heaven! Amen!

Good morning …

Grow in Wisdom
by Serving God

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.
Psalm 111:10

To be educated is definitely an advantage in life. However, we can be highly educated and still suffer from spiritual want.
For the Christian, sanctification must always receive priority over education. A person who is in the process of developing spiritually is closer to the heart of God and, therefore, he is more skilled in understanding God’s ways.
A spiritual person has discovered the true Source of wisdom in life. There is purpose in his service to God. He possesses peace and inner strength born from the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and lives his life in such a way that he gains deep-rooted contentment and inspiration from it.

Lord, help me to spend every day in fellowship with You and to experience the fullness of life.
Amen and Amen.
