Goose and Guppy, pictured here, will be at Saturday’s Adoption Event along with Panther, Poppy, Lula, Russell, Twix, Skittles, Fawn, Cub and Mouse.

East County Animal Shelter’s wet cat food shelves are looking far too empty—and the cats and kittens are counting on our help! 🐾

Donations of wet cat food for both adults and kittens are urgently needed. Any brand and any flavor will be gratefully accepted.

Open daily, 11:30am–5:30pm

Donations can also be left at the front of the building.

Together, we can help keep the shelter pantry stocked and the cats well fed.

Congratulations to Reed and Gwen, who both found their forever families today! 🎉

Reed is heading home to settle before meeting his new fur-sister, and we're hoping they'll soon become the best of friends. Meanwhile, playful little Gwen will have her new people thoroughly entertained with her kitten antics—and plenty of cuddles in between!

Tunnel time before bedtime! 🐾💤

Russell and Gwen had plenty of fun zooming, pouncing and playing in their tunnel before these two little snuggle bugs settle down for the night.

They need their beauty sleep because tomorrow is a BIG day — Adoption Event day!

Russell and Gwen are hoping that it will be their turn to meet the families who take them home forever. 🤞💕 Come meet them tomorrow and see if one of these sweethearts is the purr-fect addition to your family!

Beautiful Poppy is helping us celebrate today — and showing us exactly why black cats deserve a day all their own!

She’s playful, inquisitive, loves being with her humans and is always happy to supervise whatever you’re doing. And when the day’s adventures are over? She’s ready to settle in for some serious snuggle time. 🐾

Today seems like the purr-fect day to appreciate a black cat... or maybe even adopt one!
