The live fire drill held last night provided important training and highlighted the value of teamwork, trust, and determination among the crew.

On a hot evening, firefighters from the Pleasant Valley Fire District intensified the heat conditions as they trained with a donated camping trailer, where temperatures grew even higher.

While fires in camping trailers are rare, this scenario offered a unique opportunity for crews to practice specific techniques in a controlled, realistic environment.

During the exercise, team members worked together by stretching hose lines, managing water supply, and coordinating the fire attack. Every firefighter played a critical part. Firefighting is not a solo effort; it depends on teamwork, discipline, and mutual trust to ensure safety and effectiveness, especially in difficult situations.

Such drills help guarantee that when real emergencies occur, firefighters are prepared to respond together and protect the community when it is needed most.

Just because it’s a “normal” day at the office
doesn’t mean it’s not heavy.

You’re allowed to feel it.
You’re allowed to talk about it.
And it’s okay to ask for help when you need it. 💛

While many residents were home relaxing after the first workday of the week, members of the Pleasant Valley Fire District were still hard at work during Monday night drill.

Training, practicing, and honing their skills in the smoke-filled District Training House helps ensure they are always prepared to serve and protect our community when the call comes.

We are always looking for new members. Why not come down on a Monday night and see what it’s all about? You may discover a rewarding way to serve your community while building friendships and valuable skills.
