With our HUGE Book Sale coming up, the Friends are no longer accepting donations. They need this week and a half to finish sorting, organizing, and preparing for our best sale yet. We appreciate your understanding at this time.

If you can't wait until November to donate, we have listed a few nearby libraries that are taking donations. (We suggest you give them a call and double-check before showing up with your trunk full of boxes, though.)

Our Senior Movie this month is the 1990 fantasy-drama 'Truly Madly, Deeply' starring Alan Rickman and Juliet Stevenson. On Thursday evening, Central Hudson will be here for a Community Outreach program to teach you more about discounts and savings available as well as their HomeBoost kit. Then on Friday, we welcome back Barry Pirro for a fascinating look into the Ghosts of the Revolutionary War.

And don't forget, this is your last week to drop off donations to be counted towards The Great Give Back Food Fight! We're collecting non-perishables and personal care items in this friendly competition against Ulster County libraries.

We're taking it easy as we welcome the first week of October. But we're excited to announce that we are now offering Chair Yoga twice a month! Samantha from Millbrook Yoga will lead this class on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 12:30pm. Registration is required, so be sure to sign up.

Also, don't forget to drop off your new and gently used winter coats for the Dutchess Outreach Coat Drive! The bin in our lobby will be there all month. We are also still collecting non-perishables for the Great Give Back Food Fight through October 17th.

We recently learned that the absence of a flag at the Library is a concern for some members of our community. The Library proudly flew a flag for many years, but unfortunately, it was one of the many things lost in the devastating fire. In the urgency to reopen and restore Library services to our community, the Board had many immediate requirements and priorities to address.

We appreciate that this concern has now been brought to our attention, and we are listening. The Board will make sure it is addressed while working through the necessary logistics.

We hope this moment can be an opportunity to come together around something we all share: pride in our community and our Library. Thank you for your continued support.
