The official page of The Louisiana Tri-Parish Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on December 8, 2002.

The Louisiana Tri-Parish Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement. ✨ Camera Ready: Celebrating Girls, Confidence & Possibility! ✨

On Sunday, October 4, 2026, we celebrated International Day of the Girl Child with an empowering afternoon centered around confidence, self-expression, informed decision-making, and preparing our girls for their futures.

Our “Camera Ready” experience created space for middle and high school girls to connect, learn, express themselves, and engage in meaningful conversations about issues that impact their lives.

Participants were encouraged to know their worth, use their voices, make informed choices, and recognize the importance of having trusted adults and supportive communities in their corner. We also addressed important topics, including childhood marriage, as part of equipping girls with knowledge and resources to make healthy, informed decisions about their futures.

A special thank you to the volunteers, and supporters who helped make this event possible and poured into our young women.

When girls are informed, empowered, and supported, they are camera ready for whatever comes next!
