What would YOU like to see from the Plaquemine Cruisers in 2027?
The year is wrapping up and we're already looking ahead. All suggestions will be looked at, and if we can make it happen, we will try.
Keep it GP rated 😂
And mark your calendars - Our Annual Car Show is Saturday, June 12, 2027 at the Bayou Plaquemine Waterfront Park - Rain or Shine!
Drop your ideas below! 👇
If you need a little inspiration, here are some things the community has loved and asked for before:
1. More Community Cruises:
Cruisin' the Avenue nights like our Nov cruise, and more visits like West Towne - folks really loved seeing the cars up close at the assisted living. The residents and families talked about it for weeks.
2. Family Fun at the Show:
Keep the bounce house / space walk, add a Kid's Choice trophy, and maybe a Touch-A-Truck area where kids can sit in a classic.
3. Live Music & Food:
Live band like we had at the Waterfront, plus local vendors, sweet shop, and cold drinks. People love making it a whole afternoon.
4. Charity Tie-Ins:
You all have supported St. Jude and the Alzheimer's benefit big time. Should we pick a new local cause for 2027 or keep building on those?
5. More Classes & Stories:
A "How I restored it" talk, or young builder spotlight - dads, sons, grandkids showing off their projects together.
6. Local Business Cruise Night:
A slow cruise down Plaquemine Main with shops open late - All Makes, All Models, All Welcome.
7. Custom Awards:
Everyone loved the Louisiana-shaped sinker cypress plaques we did honoring Gil Banta and Randy Lopez. What categories would you like to see next year?
We are Plaquemine Cruisers - Cruising Together, Keeping the Classics Alive!
What would YOU add?

Just touching bases with all of you.

🇺🇸 TO ALL MY FELLOW VETERANS & CAR ENTHUSIASTS! 🇺🇸

I’m calling on all of you to come out and participate in this amazing event hosted by our fellow veterans at American Legion Post 167.

“Tailgate Under the Oaks” is more than just a car show. It has a special meaning. Every oak tree surrounding Post 167 was planted in honor and memory of a fallen veteran from our parish. These trees represent the sacrifice and service of those who gave everything for our country.

Plaquemine Cruisers and American Legion Post 167 welcome everyone—veterans, car enthusiasts, families, and friends—to come out, enjoy the day, show off your ride, and most importantly, help us honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Come on, vets and car enthusiasts! 🇺🇸🚘🇺🇸

Let’s come together and make this an incredible event—just like you all did for us!

We’ll see you there!

Now that it has been almost a week since our car show at West Town Assisted Living, we have received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from the community, and it has truly touched my heart.

As president of the Plaquemine Cruisers, I never imagined how deeply this event would affect us. We had an absolutely wonderful time with the residents and staff, and seeing their smiles, laughter, dancing, and enjoyment made every moment worthwhile.

Three of us originally started this club with the goal of giving back to our community and the surrounding areas. Sadly, one of our founding members has since passed away, but I know he would be proud to see the work the Plaquemine Cruisers continue to do.

It truly warms my heart to see our elders enjoying themselves as they did. That is what this club is all about—not just classic cars, but also people, community, friendship, and giving back.

I want to sincerely thank each and every person who helped make this event possible. Without all of you, the Plaquemine Cruisers would be nothing. A special thank-you goes to everyone who brought their beautiful classic cars and took the time to be part of this memorable day.

As always, we welcome everyone who wishes to participate in our events with open arms. We do not solicit people to become members of our organization; instead, we simply open the door to anyone who wants to join us, participate, and enjoy our activities and events.

Thank you all for your support, kindness, and the beautiful things you have shown us. Your support means more to us than you will ever know.

With great respect and appreciation,

The Plaquemine Cruisers
