Meals on Wheels South Florida is a private nonprofit organization providing hunger-relief services since 1984. With the dedication of nearly 300 volunteers, Meals on Wheels South Florida delivers nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks that enable South Florida seniors to live nourished lives with independence and dignity. Meals on Wheels South Florida serves more than 10,000 seniors an estimated 1.5 million meals each year. Included in their comprehensive list of programs and services are home meal delivery, meals for companion pets, grocery shopping assistance, nutrition education and emergency meals. Depression made it difficult for Sandra to cook, leave her bed or even care for her two rescue cats, Blackie and Jazzy. Then her local provider stepped in. Today, volunteers deliver nutritious meals to Sandra, as well as provide cat food and litter for her beloved companions. 🐈🐱🐈‍⬛

💙 Sometimes, one connection can make all the difference.

For C.S., a Pembroke Pines resident living alone with health and mobility challenges, everyday tasks like grocery shopping and preparing meals had become increasingly difficult.

After months of seeking assistance and waiting for home-delivered meal services, she found hope through Meals on Wheels South Florida's End the Wait program. This program helps provide nutritious meals to eligible seniors who are waiting to receive services through other funded meal programs.

On October 20, our new client received her very first meal delivery. 🥗🍅 For C.S., it was more than a nutritious meal. It was the beginning of much-needed support, greater peace of mind, and the ability to continue living independently.

Stories like C.S.'s remind us why our mission matters. Because no senior should have to wait for the nourishment and care they deserve.
