With the dedication of nearly 300 volunteers, Meals on Wheels South Florida delivers nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks that enable South Florida seniors to live nourished lives with independence and dignity. Meals on Wheels South Florida serves more than 10,000 seniors a

n estimated 1.5 million meals each year. Included in their comprehensive list of programs and services are home meal delivery, meals for companion pets, grocery shopping assistance, nutrition education and emergency meals. Pets are key to fighting loneliness, and we believe no one should have to choose between caring for themselves and caring for the pet they love. Yet it happens every day. 🐶🐩🐱

A third of clients with pets say they’ve gone without necessities themselves — from food to medical care — just to keep their furry friends.

That’s why the Meals on Wheels network has delivered 20 million pet meals nationwide. We are working hard to relieve seniors from loneliness and isolation while keeping their animals happy, healthy, and in their homes.

Each week, delivers nutritious meals to Army veteran Thomas Proudford, a disabled veteran and amputee, supporting his health and independence. Through Meals on Wheels America’s program, funded by , Thomas has also received critical home modifications that help him age safely at home. This National Home Improvement Month, his story is a reminder that small changes can make all the difference. 🏡💙
