We’re not in the noise. We’re in the work.

For Black communities. For immigrants. For LGBTQ+ youth. For every person the system overlooks.
Juneteenth isn’t history. It’s the blueprint.

On Juneteenth, we honor those who worked quietly and courageously when the world refused to see them. That legacy lives in us. We may not be visible in every digital space right now, but we are present where it matters: in community, in service, and in the fight for those who need it most. Ain’t nobody got time for anything less.

Jowharah surely doesn’t.

At PALS, your student spends six days living in the USF dorms, attending intensive workshops, and building the skills that show up the moment high school rules no longer apply.

Time management without a bell schedule. Self-advocacy without a teacher in their corner. The confidence to walk into any room and know they belong there.

Most students step onto a college campus for the first time on move-in day. Students who participate in our Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit (PALS) arrive years earlier.

"I really needed help with my resume and creating a LinkedIn profile. I was able to create my first resume and now I can use it in my daily life." — Anonymous, 2025 PALS Participant

98% of PALS participants say the program helped them grow personally and professionally

This Mental Health Awareness Month hits different in 2026.

Funding cuts are hitting the very systems young people depend on, from school counselors to crisis lines, at the exact moment more of us need them. About 1 in 4 high school students reports persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness, and 60% of teens experiencing serious depression never receive any support at all.

That is not okay. And it is not your fault.

Stigma around self-harm makes an already hard thing even harder. The myths are everywhere. The silence is loud. And right now, some of the doors that were supposed to be open are closing.

But here is what we know: across the country, young people are stepping into leadership roles, speaking out against stigma, advocating for mental health literacy, and helping shape solutions that reflect their lived experiences. That is exactly what Share the Care is about.

You are not too much. You are not broken. You deserve support, and it still exists.
