Together, we donate, volunteer, advocate and celebrate all the ways the Library enriches our community. Did y’all know you can donate books and magazines you’re done reading at all five Plano Public Library locations?

We resell them in the Friends Bookstores at each location, and the proceeds go right back to Plano Public Library!

Donations are accepted at the information desk or in a donation bin near the entrance.

Applications to serve on the Plano Library Friends Board of Directors are now open.

We are seeking individuals who want to invest their time and talents to help ensure Plano Library Friends remains a strong partner of Plano Public Library.

Board terms begin October 1. Ideal candidates live or work in Plano or Collin County, or are regular patrons of the Library, and have experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Social media content creation and management
• Graphic design
• Marketing and communications
• Event management
• Customer service
• Process improvement or operations
• Information technology
• Grant writing
• Accounting or financial bookkeeping
• Legal or nonprofit legal

WOW WOW WOW – That’s all we can say.

You helped raise $23,319.18 for Plano Public Library at this weekend’s Bag of Books Sale!

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank every single shopper and volunteer for showing up in such a big way to support the Library.

That funding will be visible the form of more supplies for programs inside the Library and at outreach programs around Plano. Give yourselves a big hand!

Thank you, Friends! Our July Bag of Books Sale has been wonderfully busy, and we are so grateful for your support.
A quick update: inventory is very low this afternoon, so we will close today, Saturday, July 18 at 5 pm.
We’ll reopen Sunday, July 19 from 1-4:30 pm with a few fresh selections, but choices will still be limited.
We will not be open Monday, July 20 as we expect to be sold out.

Bag of Books Sale: July 17-20, 2026 at Davis Library, hosted by Plano Library Friends!

📚 How it works:
Buy one of our brown bags for $10 and fill it with gently used books, DVDs, CDs and more from our selection. We have treasures for all ages, and we restock continuously so there are new finds every day.

⏰ Public hours:
Fri. July 17: 9am-5:30pm
Sat. July 18: 10am-5:30pm
Sun. July 19: 1-4:30pm
Mon. July 20: 9am-8:30pm

🍀 Membership perks:
Members can shop the sale before it opens to the public! Thurs. July 16 from 5:30-8:30pm.
