🌿 SHEMINI ATZERET — THE EIGHTH DAY!

COULD THE LAST DAY POINT US TOWARD ETERNITY?

After seven joyous days of Sukkot—the Feast of Tabernacles—God calls His people to remain with Him for one more sacred day.

“On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation...” — Leviticus 23:36

This is Shemini Atzeret—the Eighth Day of Assembly.
But have you ever wondered: Why an eighth day?

Seven often represents a completed cycle in Scripture. The eighth day can beautifully picture what comes next—a new beginning and something beyond the completed cycle.
And what a prophetic picture that gives us!

Sukkot celebrates God dwelling with His people.
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” — John 1:14

Yeshua (Jesus) came and tabernacled among us.
Yet Revelation points us toward an even greater celebration:

“Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” — Revelation 19:9

Many believers therefore see Shemini Atzeret as a beautiful prophetic foreshadowing of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb—not because Scripture explicitly identifies the two, but because the Eighth Day wonderfully pictures the glorious future awaiting Messiah and His redeemed.

And ultimately:
“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them...” — Revelation 21:3

Think about the incredible biblical progression:
🌿 God tabernacled with Israel.
🌿 Yeshua tabernacled among us.
🌿 The Bride will rejoice with the Lamb.
🌿 And God will dwell with His people forever!
THE FEAST ENDS—BUT HIS PRESENCE DOESN'T.

Perhaps that's one of the most beautiful messages of the Eighth Day. God's redemptive story is moving toward a glorious day when faith becomes sight, the King reigns, the redeemed rejoice, and we dwell in His presence forever! So don't merely ask:
“What Feast are we finishing?” Ask:

“What Glorious future is God preparing us for?”

“Let us rejoice and exult and give Him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come.” — Revelation 19:7

May we live today as people preparing for THAT glorious Day!

🌿 SUKKOT BEGINS AT SUNDOWN TONIGHT!

ARE WE REHEARSING FOR THE KINGDOM TO COME?

For the next seven days, Jewish families around the world will celebrate Sukkot—the Feast of Tabernacles, one of God's Moedim—His Appointed Times.

We often call them the Jewish Feasts.
But listen to what God calls them:
“The appointed feasts of the LORD.” — Leviticus 23:4

Sukkot remembers how God delivered, protected, provided for, and dwelt with Israel in the wilderness. And God's instruction?
REJOICE!

“You shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.” — Leviticus 23:40

But Sukkot also points us toward something greater.
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” — John 1:14

Yeshua (Jesus) came and tabernacled among us!

He also attended Sukkot and proclaimed:
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” — John 7:37

Many believers see God's annual Moedim as “dress rehearsals”—remembering what God has done while anticipating what He has promised to do.

And look at what Zechariah describes:
The nations will one day go up to Jerusalem “to worship the King...and to keep the Feast of Booths.” — Zechariah 14:16

Think about that!
The nations.
Jerusalem.
Yeshua reigning as King.
And Sukkot being celebrated!

And ultimately:
“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.” — Revelation 21:3

🌿 God dwelt with Israel.
🌿 Yeshua (Jesus) tabernacled among us.
🌿 Messiah will reign.
🌿 And God will dwell with His people forever!

These Feasts aren't about Gentile believers trying to become Jewish. They're an invitation to understand God's Word, His covenant faithfulness, His appointed times, and our Jewish Messiah more deeply.

So tonight...
REJOICE. REMEMBER. CELEBRATE. EXPECT.
The King is coming.

🌿 SUKKOT BEGINS THIS FRIDAY EVENING!
THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES

“You shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.” — Leviticus 23:40

At sundown this Friday, September 25, Sukkot—one of God's Moedim, His Appointed Times—begins!

For seven days, God commanded Israel to dwell in booths and remember how He delivered, protected, provided for, and dwelt with His people (Leviticus 23:33–43).

But did you know Yeshua (Jesus) celebrated Sukkot?

During the Feast He stood and cried:

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” — John 7:37

And John tells us something even more extraordinary about Messiah:

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” — John 1:14

The word “dwelt” carries the beautiful imagery of tabernacling among us!

EMMANUEL—GOD WITH US!

Some believers believe Yeshua may have been born during the season of Sukkot, although Scripture does not explicitly reveal His birth date.

But Scripture leaves no doubt about the greater message:

God dwelt with Israel.
Yeshua came and tabernacled among us.
And one day God will dwell with His people forever!
— Revelation 21:3

🌿 That's Sukkot.

It's not about Christians trying to become Jewish.

It's about discovering God's appointed times and better understanding the Jewish Messiah we already love.

G’MAR CHATIMA TOVAH!
“May you be sealed for good.”

✡️ YOM KIPPUR — THE DAY OF ATONEMENT

Yom Kippur is traditionally regarded as the holiest and most solemn day of the Jewish year—a day of fasting, prayer, repentance, and seeking God.

God commanded Israel:

“For on this day shall atonement be made for you to cleanse you.” — Leviticus 16:30

For followers of Yeshua (Jesus), Yom Kippur also provides a powerful biblical picture of our need for atonement—and the extraordinary work of our Messiah.

Hebrews tells us that Yeshua, our great High Priest, entered “once for all” by His own blood, securing eternal redemption (Hebrews 9:12).

Yom Kippur reminds us of the seriousness of sin.
Yeshua reveals the extraordinary greatness of grace.

Christians don't need to become Jewish to appreciate God's appointed times. We can allow them to deepen our understanding of Scripture and of our Jewish Messiah.

Consider setting aside time this Yom Kippur to:

🙏 PRAY
❤️ REPENT & FORGIVE
📖 RETURN TO GOD'S WORD
🥖 FAST—as you are physically able
🇮🇱 PRAY FOR ISRAEL & THE JEWISH PEOPLE

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!” — Psalm 122:6

May we not merely study God's appointed times.

May they draw us closer to the God who appointed them—and to Yeshua, our great High Priest.

📯 THE TEN DAYS OF AWE: IS THE CHURCH LISTENING?

We are in a remarkable season between Yom Teruah—the Feast of Trumpets—and Yom Kippur—the Day of Atonement.

Jewish tradition calls these the Ten Days of Awe—a season of repentance, reflection, reconciliation, and returning to God.

But what could these days teach followers of Yeshua (Jesus)?

Perhaps more than we realize.

God calls the biblical Feasts His “appointed times” — Moedim (Leviticus 23).

Yeshua lived within Israel’s biblical calendar. He celebrated Passover and Sukkot, and the New Testament repeatedly reveals profound connections between God’s appointed times and His redemptive work through Messiah.

📯 The trumpet calls us to awaken.

Yom Kippur confronts us with the seriousness of sin and our desperate need for atonement.

And Sukkot soon follows with the joy of God dwelling with His people.

Perhaps Christians shouldn't only ask:

“Do I have to celebrate the biblical Feasts?”

Maybe we should ask:

“What am I missing by never learning about them?”

They're not about trying to become Jewish.

They're about better understanding the Jewish Messiah we already follow.

So during these Days of Awe:

Search me, Lord.
Forgive me.
Teach me.
Awaken me.
Use me.

And may we become like the sons of Issachar—understanding the times and knowing how to respond (1 Chronicles 12:32).

🌙 ROSH CHODESH ELUL — THE KING IS IN THE FIELD

“I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine.” — Song of Songs 6:3

Welcome to Elul—the biblical-calendar month leading us toward the extraordinary Fall Appointed Times of Tishrei.

Jewish tradition associates the Hebrew letters of **Elul** with:

Ani l'dodi v'dodi li — “I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine.”

Elul has therefore become a season of **teshuvah—return, repentance, reflection, and drawing near to God.**

There's also a beautiful Jewish parable associated with Elul:

“The King is in the Field.”

It pictures a king leaving his palace and becoming accessible to ordinary people.

For followers of Yeshua, it points us toward an even greater biblical truth:

Our King came to us.

And through Messiah, we've been invited to draw near to the throne of grace.

As Elul prepares us for Yom Teruah, Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets), Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), and Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles), perhaps the question isn't merely:

What time is it on God's calendar?

But: What is God doing in my heart?

Search me.

Teach me.

Forgive me.

Awaken me.

Use me.

And as antisemitism and hostility toward Israel continue to rise, may the Church become like the Sons of Issachar—understanding the times and knowing how to respond.
