On June 6, 1844, George Williams and 11 young men in London came together because they needed something their city was not providing: community, purpose, and a place to belong.

Guided by the belief found in the YMCA’s founding verse, “that they all may be one” (John 17:21), they created a movement centered on connection, support, and shared purpose.

More than 180 years later, that same belief continues to guide the Y.

Every day, people walk through our doors searching for something meaningful—a goal to work toward, a friend they did not expect to find, a sense of belonging, or an opportunity to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Over the years, the Y has evolved in many ways. Our logos have changed, our programs have expanded, and generations of people have come through our doors. Yet one thing has remained constant: our commitment to helping people thrive and strengthening the communities we serve.

For 182 years, the Y has been bringing people together, building connections, and creating opportunities for all.

🎻 Ezra: Teaching violin, guitar, ukulele, and piano. With his music therapy background, Ezra creates a supportive, personalized space tailored to every student.

🎷 Mikayla: Teaching piano, flute, piccolo, and alto sax. An elite ensemble performer, Mikayla loves helping young musicians build great technique and find joy in music.
