The spirit of our Juneteenth Celebration continues as we have expanded to Kendall County. We are in the process of finalizing the event but for now save the date, mark your calendars and share the information with your family and friends. I'm super excited to share this information and moved that others were interested and motivated to assist and keep this historical event active.

Plano's annual Juneteenth Celebration has been canceled, according to a post on the event's social media page.

Due to circumstances outside of my control, community engagement and negative feedback our 2025 Juneteenth Celebration for Plano, Illinois has been canceled. This includes, but not limited to, our Martin Luther King Candlelight Bowling Fundraiser, our Black History Month scholarship contest and our June Celebration that is normally help at Emily G John's. My hope is that this is temporary but if the cancelation is determined that it needs to extend to 2026 then that would be the will and pleasure of the community. Thank you to all that have participated and celebrated with us for the past 4 years.
