Following its successful inaugural run in the fall of 2025, the North Shore Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce that the Long Island Music Educator Performance Prize is returning for 2026. This award recognizes excellence in music performance by Long Island-based music teachers. This exciting initiative is sponsored in part by Sweetwater, a national leader in musical instruments and audio technology.

The winner of the Long Island Music Educator Performance Prize will receive:
• A concerto performance with NSSO
• $500 cash prize
• Classroom speakers from Sweetwater Sound
• Regional recognition across Long Island’s music education community

The application is now open and will be accepted through August 15, 2026. The winner will be notified by September 1 and will be the featured soloist in a special concert presentation on October 1, 2026.
