We carry this quiet question everywhere:

“Am I enough?”

Enough for our family.
Enough for our jobs.
Enough for the expectations around us.

But the invitation of Jesus is not deeper striving.
It is deeper surrender.

The cross was never Jesus helping you become worthy enough someday.

It was Christ meeting you fully in your insufficiency and saying,
“My grace is sufficient.”

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9

In 1931, C.S. Lewis considered Christianity just another myth.

Then J.R.R. Tolkien challenged him with one question:

"Why do you love mythology so much? And why do you love story so much? Isn't it possible that those are pointers to the ultimate greatest story, the true story?"

Eight days after that conversation, Lewis surrendered his life to Christ.

What changed?

Tolkien suggested that the myths and stories Lewis loved were not merely human inventions. They were signposts pointing toward the ultimate true Story.

Maybe every tale of sacrifice, redemption, justice, love, restoration, and homecoming is echoing something deeper.

Maybe all these smaller stories are pointing us toward the Story where death is defeated, grace triumphs over sin, and the Author writes Himself into the narrative to rescue His creation.

David was anointed king in a moment.

Oil poured. Calling confirmed. The Spirit of God came upon him.

But he didn’t sit on the throne for years.

Instead, he served someone else’s vision.
He was misunderstood.
He was hunted.
He lived in caves.
He led in obscurity.

The anointing was immediate.
The appointment was not.

And in that gap, God was doing something deeper.

He was forming a man who could be trusted with what had been promised.

David had chances to take the throne early. To force the outcome. To justify the shortcut.

But he refused.

Because faithfulness mattered more than arrival.

God is not just preparing what He has for you.
He is preparing you for what He has.

And more often than we realize, the future is not built on big moments.

It is built on quiet, consistent faithfulness over time.

Who you are is in Christ, not in how you fulfill your calling.

Rogue One resonates because it reflects a deeply biblical truth:

Faithfulness does not always look successful in the moment.

Every member of Rogue One dies without seeing the victory their sacrifice helped secure.

But their obedience and bravery change the story.

Hebrews 11 reminds us that many heroes of faith trusted God without seeing the full fulfillment in their lifetime.

Much of the Kingdom is built the same way.

Planting.
Serving.
Praying.
Building.
Leading.

Trusting God with outcomes we may never fully see this side of Heaven.

The Gospel reminds us that we are part of a story bigger than ourselves.

If you ask 20 people to define BAM, you’ll probably get 20 different answers.

So we created a simple framework to help clarify some of the most common terms used across the BAM movement.

Informed by Lausanne, AGWM, BAM Global, and Patrick Lai’s books on Business for Transformation and Tentmaking.

You are not building a life in isolation.

You are living inside the greatest story ever told.

Creation.
Fall.
Redemption.
Restoration.

Most people try to make work carry the weight of meaning.

But work was never meant to be the story.
It was meant to be part of it.

When you see that, everything changes.
