Please keep Franci and the entire Hilligoss family in your thoughts. Tom was such a huge part of Plainfield that can never be replaced. Even Franklin Park was named after his Grandfather and our first police chief. Rest in Peace my friend.
Thomas Hilligoss Obituary
Thomas Franklin “Tom” Hilligoss, 90, of Plainfield, passed away on February 02, 2024. He was born on October 14, 1933 in Indianapolis to the late Margaret (Franklin) and Forest Hilligoss. Tom married Dolly Robertson on February 18, 1956 in Texas and she preceded him in death on July 06, 2023. Tom was a U. S. Air Force veteran and was a member of the Nysewander Bayliff American Legion post #329 in Plainfield. He was the C.E.O. of Projected Sound for 39 years, retiring in 1998. Tom was a life-long member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church, a member of Plainfield Elks Lodge #2186, Plainfield Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge, and also served as a precinct committee member. He was very giving toward his community. Tom was an avid golfer and also coached for many years at both the high school and middle school level. He was a private pilot, enjoyed snow skiing, and writing poetry. Survivors include his daughters, Frances St. Laurent (Paul), Sara Homeier; 3 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren, all of Plainfield; and brother, J Mark Hilligoss. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Thomas Franklin Hilligoss, Jr.; 1 grandson Blair Wolf; and brother, Forest Richard “Dick” Hilligoss. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Plainfield United Methodist Church with inurnment to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time in the church. Contributions may be made to Plainfield United Methodist Church family assistance 600 Simmons Street Plainfield, IN 46168.
