The afternoon session brought student-led tours, parents absolutely glowing as they walked through the home, and perfect timing getting everyone through before the rain rolled in.

One of the highlights of the day was hearing students confidently talk through the work they completed, the problems they solved, and the skills they’ve built through the Area 31 Construction Trades Program.

Today was a reminder of what can happen when education, community partners, and hands-on opportunity all come together in one place.

Proud is the only word that fits today.

Watching families, partners, board members, and community supporters walk through a home built by Area 31 Construction Trades students is pretty incredible. The amount of skill, patience, problem solving, and teamwork these students have poured into this project shows in every room.

Thank you to everyone who spent the morning with us encouraging students and celebrating what hands-on education and community partnership can create together.

Now… a quick reset before we welcome the afternoon group. 🙂

Huge thanks to the Carrier and MacAllister Rentals teams, our Indy Gateway board members, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc., and the community members who showed up for Mulch Day.

Because of you, this westside park is cleaner, brighter, and ready for families to enjoy. 💚
