🌼Feel-good Friday🌼

When Ajax (FKA Arlo) arrived at our shelter, he was matted, covered in f***s, and terribly confused. Instead of living in a warm and loving household, this sweet pup was left scouring the streets in search of food and aid.

As heartbroken as we were for him, we knew that he deserved so much better than the life he had been living. What one "owner" viewed as trash, another recognized as treasure. After losing their shepherd to cancer, Ajax's adopters made the long drive just to meet this special boy. He wasted no time pouring on the charm and showing off what a sweet and goofy boy he is! It's moments like these that remind us why we continue to do what we do. It's truly remarkable to see how much of a difference this community makes in the lives of homeless animals. Happy Tails Ajax!

"Tails from the Foster Home" - A Letter from ADOPTABLE Masha

It's been just over one month since my foster pawrents brought me home and I couldn't be happier to be out of a kennel. I have all this space to myself and get constant walks, pets, and reminders of how beautiful I am! My foster pawrents are working on my separation anxiety and have begun leaving me for short periods of time. This has been a slow process for me as my stress has previously led me to break free from my crate and nearly injure myself. My heart is full when everyone is home and I love to lay with and smooch my humans.

I walk very well on my leash and have been respectful during my interactions with new dogs. Like most Huskies, I love to chase smaller animals so I would not be an appropriate companion for cats or high energy toy breeds who love to dart and dash. The staff feels that a confident canine companion would play an instrumental role in helping with my anxiety both at home and out in public. Not to sound biased, but I would prefer a brother or sister who also lives the cool Husky lifestyle 😎

My experiences with meeting new people have mostly been positive though there are certainly some instances in which I grow uncomfortable. I'm an incredibly tolerant girl (almost to a fault) as people mistake my hesitant tolerance as a sign of joy and acceptance. My new family will need to advocate for my boundaries as I am not always forward enough to do so myself. I have learned so many new things with my fosters and continue to learn even more each day. If there's one thing ADOPTABLE Fauna loves more than cookies it's getting pets and scratches from our volunteers! This beautiful girl has been with us since March where she was found emaciated and soaked from the rain. Her road to recovery was not without setbacks, but she continued to push forward like the warrior she is!

She was thrilled at the thought of finding her forever family this summer but we sadly never heard back from the individual and the adoption fell through. Despite our disappointment, we put on a happy face for Fauna and reassured her that the right person is out there for her! She is an absolute sweetheart who missed the memo that she is not exactly a lapdog. While she enjoys meeting new people she is not a fan of other animals and is looking for a home where she will be the only pet.

Hi new friends, it's nice to meet you! 🐶

My name is Chico and I'm looking for a loving adopter just like you! I was surrendered to the humane society in April because my family could no longer care for me. At 6 years young I have the perfect balance of energy - I like to romp around and play tag but will also hop on your lap for cuddles. The shelter has even named me their junior office assistant as I love to sit on the staff's lap and help them answer emails!

Some may say that I "look funny" being a pit bull/shih tzu mix but I think my looks make me unique! I am 38 lbs of soft luxurious hair and pawsitively adorable little legs. Overall I am quite the friendly boy but can still be a bit unsure of myself in new situations. At this time I am searching for a household with children ten and older where I will be the only pet.
