Twenty-five years have passed since the tragic events happened on September 11th, 2001. The memories are still there and never forgotten. The pain, profound loss, and the heroism displayed that day remain in our memories.

Plainfield Firefighters FMBA Local 7 stand in remembrance of the 2,977 innocent souls who lost their lives that day. We honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice that day. Along side the 23 NYPD officers, 37 PAPD officers, 8 EMTs, and the 1 PAPD K9 who selflessly ran into danger while others were running out.

We also keep in our thoughts the countless first responders and survivors who continue to fight the 9/11-related illnesses and those who have passed away since.

To our Plainfield community: as we go about our day, let us pause to remember the unity and strength that carried our nation through our darkest hours.

We promise to never forget. Today, tomorrow, and always. We keep that promise everyday.

This past weekend, Platoon 3 was honored at the NJ FMBA Valor Awards, receiving a Group Effort Award for their outstanding teamwork and dedication.

In addition, two of our members—Jameel Sanders and Ryan Szumski—were each awarded the Silver Medal of Valor for their courageous actions during a fire on Front Street.

We are incredibly proud of our members and the hard work, bravery, and professionalism they demonstrate every day.

We were also honored to be joined by Adrian O Mapp who was recently endorsed for Congress by FMBA Local 7 and FMBA Local 207. Mayor Mapp was there to witness our members receive their well-deserved awards and continues to be a strong supporter of our department.
