SEMS at Pitt. The official Student Emergency Medical Services organization at the University of Pittsburgh.

Pitt SEMS is a student organization at the University of Pittsburgh. Our membership is comprised of EMTs, Paramedics, and those with an interest in Emergency Medicine.

This past weekend SEMS had the opportunity to tour the City of Pittsburgh River Rescue! We received a tour of the facilities and even got to get out on their rescue boat. River Rescue is staffed by Pittsburgh Paramedics and Police and is responsible for surface and dive rescue across Pittsburgh’s three Rivers. This was a great learning opportunity for our club to see yet another side of EMS and emergency services!

This weekend we’ll be having Division Chief Mark Pinchalk from Pittsburgh EMS come and speak about HazMat Rescue Medicine! Hope to see everyone there!

Over this past weekend SEMS had the privilege to attend th conference in Arlington, VA. Over the last 3 days our members had the opportunity to attend lectures ranging from physicians to our own members, compete in EMS skills competitions, and network with other collegiate EMS groups from across the country! Until next year!

Come join us on Sunday 02/15 for a Moulage workshop run by our very own ! Along with this we’ll be doing a short review of bleeding control skills. Hope to see everyone there!
