We had some special visitors at our Lawrenceville Clubhouse for Community Helpers Week! 🚒 The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire stopped by to give our preschoolers an up-close look at fire trucks, talk about fire safety, and show them how firefighters help keep our communities safe.

A big thank you to the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire and all the brave community helpers who show up for our communities every day. We appreciate you! 🫶🏽

We’re officially kicking off the holiday season! 🎃

Our Estelle S. Campbell Clubhouse celebrated Halloween with a HUGE costume party, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the festivities!

A special thank you to Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day for showing up for our Club Kids and helping make this celebration extra special.

💡 Lights On Afterschool looked a little different at each of our Clubhouses, but the heart behind it was the same!

From building computers and creating homemade projectors to making sensory bottles, designing haunted houses, and celebrating with new Game Room pets, our Club Kids spent the evening learning, creating, exploring, and having fun together. 🎨💻🎉

These moments are what afterschool is all about: giving young people a place to discover new interests, build connections, and feel like they belong.

That's the beauty of afterschool. 💙

Our Scott Primary Clubhouse families took on quite the challenge for Lights On Afterschool: BUILDING A COMPUTER! 💻🎉

And let’s just say, when you’re 5 to 11 years old (or an adult who has never built a computer before), it’s no easy task. 😂

Between tricky instructions, a few roadblocks, and LOTS of problem-solving, it took hours of teamwork to get the job done. But guess what? WE HAD WORKING COMPUTERS! 🙌

The best part? No one gave up. Kids and adults worked side by side, figuring things out and helping each other along the way.

THAT is the beauty of belonging. 💙

Afterschool is more than a place to go after the school day ends. It’s a place to try something new, work through challenges, and discover what’s possible when we learn together.

Our Little Libraries project is officially coming to life, and we’re so excited to give you a sneak peek! 📚

We’re bringing 5 Little Libraries to our communities where kids can take a book, leave a book, and share their love of reading. 💙

This week, our team came together for an in-service training day focused on strengthening youth safety, exploring professional growth opportunities, building connections across Clubhouses, and envisioning how we can continue to improve the experience of every young person and family we serve. Interactive team building activities were supported by Dollar Bank and the Early Excellence Project.

The theme was "We are the Helpers!", and staff left the day with actionable steps to meaningfully impact the lives of our Club Kids and Teens.

Our teens aren’t just preparing for the future — they’re helping shape it!

This week, our Club Teens participated in two impactful experiences that demonstrate the power of investing in young people.

🔨100 BGCWPA teens and teens from our partners at Café Momentum Pittsburgh attended a career fair hosted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Partner4Work, Allegheny County Government, City of Pittsburgh, and many other organizations. Ahead of the event, our Club Teen Gia moderated a panel featuring Steelers Cam Heyward and Pat Friermuth and Second Lady of Pennsylvania Blayre Holmes Davis, helping set the stage for conversations about careers, professional growth, and future possibilities.

🚌Youth leadership and regional impact: Our 2026 Youth of the Year Ona spoke at Jerome Bettis' Bus Stops Here Foundation Caring for Kids Gala, sharing the impact of our partnership to bring mobile Boys & Girls Clubs programming to communities throughout the region.

These opportunities reflect what’s possible when organizations come together to expand access, elevate youth voices, and connect young people with experiences that prepare them for success.
