DARE 2 B Tick Aware: Lyme & Tick-borne Disease Awareness program at on Thursday, May 14 from 1:30–3:00 PM. Please register at https://buff.ly/UTO5m86. Join Kathy Rubel with PALyme.org for a presentation on this health issue. Learn preventive measures you can use to help keep you and your family safe and healthy. The Dare program will cover PA Lyme stats; tick ID & behavior, life cycle and habitat; prevention for personal, yard and pets; and what to do if bitten by a tick. Materials and resources included.

If anyone is in the area, Girty's Woods is a great place to hike and explore. Maybe you can help ALT build some trails!

ALT is teaming up with the Pittsburgh Zoo to host a series of workdays to restore Girty’s Woods! Through this 6 week workday series, we will: build trails, manage invasive plants, plant trees, and work on signage and trail blazing. Join us for one or all 5 workdays:

Friday May 1, 4pm-7pm: Trail Building
Friday May 8, 4pm-7pm: Invasive Plant Management
Friday May 15, 4pm-7pm: Tree Planting
Friday May 22, 4pm-7pm: Tree Planting
Friday May 29, 4pm-7pm: Signage and Trail Blazing
