The Cat Garden Rescue Cat Rescue Group, servicing select cities in West Contra Costa County, CA This well-proven method is called TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release).

The Cat Garden Rescue (TCGR) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose objective is to spay/neuter homeless cats, and place adoptable ones in loving homes. We trap, neuter, and return cats who choose residency at people’s homes, gardens, parks, schools, and on the streets. Our goal is to help our communities in reducing cat population, teach compassion, educate, and offer solutions to unwanted cat presence in the Richmond, San Pablo, El Sobrante, Rodeo, Hercules and Pinole areas. We are not able to accept owner surrenders as we are a small, non-profit organization without a designated facility.

Update on Rocco. He has finally learned how to eat but is very messy. Laila, his foster, has decided to adopt him. She has other pets and Rocco really likes to take naps with the big dog. We asked her to take Arthur, but she couldn’t as she has 3 kids too. She also knows that she may keep him and her husband is clearly against having more.

We want to thank Joybound People & Pets for the 5 appointments today. We also want to thank Nancy Stone at their clinic to always be gracious and helpful. Thank you to Nancy Coombs to always pick up for us. Most of them have found homes, we will know by tomorrow if any are still available and we will post. They went fast by word of mouth. All good homes with other young cats.

Red born February/ March 2011. Was poisoned with anti-freeze by my neighbor. His sister and 2 best friends were not so lucky. The bill to save him was $5000 at Pet referral. He could not be adopted as he sprayed. Even sprayed my face one time. Probably the smartest cat I have ever encountered and the most dominant by far. He has kidney disease and we hope he will
make his sweet 16. Virginia Harrison helped me with his neuter at the time. We need to prepare a special heated shelter for him and his 2 buddies.

Meet Arthur a little, strong, 12 oz tabby from the Pinole Creek. A lady who was walking her dog heard him crying. She waited for a while before picking him up. She went back for more kittens but there were none. He knows how to lap milk and tries to eat a bit. Our hope is for him to be with Rocco in one week after deworm, etc. They have the exact same weight. 12 oz, but we are told that Rocco is more than 4 weeks and I feel this guy is in the same boat. More to come on both of them.
