Local 14 Pine Bluff Firefighters Association is proud to partner with Pine Bluff Fire & Emergency Services and The City Of Pine Bluff to provide this cancer screening for the men and women of the Fire Department. These screenings were not only offered to the active members of the fire department but also to former members who have retired and their spouses. Firefighters have a 62% chance of being diagnostic with certain cancers than the average person. We have to take care of the ones who take care of us in some of our most vulnerable and devastating moments.

Due to the nature of their job, firefighters are at an increased risk of certain cancers. Now, Pine Bluff is showing us how they're tackling the problem head-on.

If you don’t have to get out on the roads, don’t. Today is not the day to test driving skills. Your choice could have consequences for first responders that have to come help you!! If at all possible stay home and stay warm!!!

For those who don’t have a choice, check the road conditions before you leave. Then you know what you’re in for.

As we welcome the New Year, the Pine Bluff Local 14 Firefighters Association would like to take a moment to reflect on the past year and look ahead with renewed purpose.

We are proud of the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice shown by our firefighters in service to the citizens of Pine Bluff. Through every call, training evolution, and challenge, our members continue to uphold the highest standards of the fire service.

In the state of Mississippi they are raising the required time in for retirement to 35 years for all positions. Many people are calling for the to reaccess this when it comes to LEO’s, FD and EMS. When asked about this in a radio interview LT Governor Delbert Hoseman stated the following (which is pictured)

Even if you’re not from Mississippi, you can reach out to him to say that 35 years is not realistic. (I live in Louisiana and sent an email)
