Leadership Pine Bluff participants spent an outstanding day exploring higher education and workforce development opportunities during our June Education Session.

The day began at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where the class experienced innovation firsthand by seeing the Robo Dog in action, touring the library and its advanced technology resources, and getting a sneak peek at the impressive new Student Union Building. This state-of-the-art facility, which will soon open to students, will house student services offices and feature amenities including a gymnasium and bowling alley. The group also enjoyed a delicious lunch in the UAPB cafeteria.

In the afternoon, the class visited Southeast Arkansas College, where they heard from members of the college's leadership team and toured the campus. Participants met Arthur, the robotic patient used in the nursing program, and explored the Technical Studies Building to learn more about hands-on training opportunities in areas such as welding, HVAC, and other skilled trades.

A special thank you to both institutions for providing such an informative and engaging experience. We are fortunate to have these outstanding educational partners helping prepare the next generation of leaders and workforce professionals right here in Pine Bluff.

The Jefferson County Young Professionals and the Chairmen’s Club (Redcoats) recently participated in the THV11 Summer Cereal Drive in partnership with the Arkansas FoodBank, helping support families right here in our community.

Together, they made a meaningful impact by presenting a $500 donation to help purchase cereal for local households in need. Additionally, the Chairmen’s Club (Redcoats) donated 85 boxes of cereal during the drive.

These contributions will help ensure that children and families have access to a simple but important breakfast staple. We are grateful for their commitment to serving our community and making a difference where it matters most.

Last Saturday, we were proud to join the celebration as the Sahara Shriners marked the grand opening of their beautiful new building on Highway 104 in White Hall, AR! This special ribbon cutting was a joint event hosted by the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce and the White Hall Chamber of Commerce, bringing our communities together to recognize an incredible milestone.

We extend our sincere congratulations to the Sahara Shriners on their new home and deep appreciation for all they do in service to others. Their ongoing dedication—especially their outstanding efforts in raising funds so that children can receive free or reduced-cost care through Shriners Hospitals for Children—is truly making a lasting difference in countless lives.

Thank you for your continued commitment to compassion, service, and community impact!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our June Chamber Luncheon!

We were honored to welcome Gabe Holmstrom, strategist for Issue 3 and former Director of the Downtown Little Rock Partnership, and Cliff McKinney, attorney with Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull, as our featured speakers.

Gabe and Cliff provided an informative overview of Issue 3, a proposed state constitutional amendment that will appear on the November ballot. The measure would allow for the creation of local economic development districts, where increases in property tax or sales tax revenues could be used to fund bonds for infrastructure improvements and economic development incentives.

Their presentation offered valuable insight into how Issue 3 could impact communities across Arkansas and the opportunities it may create for future growth and investment.

Thank you to our speakers for sharing their expertise and helping our members stay informed on issues that could shape the future of economic development in our state.
