Please be careful out there. High winds and on and off this weekend. Watch for loose tree limbs, and areas prone to localized flooding.

Saturday Morning Update: Here is the latest on the Nor'easter affecting our region. For the full briefing, visithttps://www.weather.gov/media/phi/current_briefing.pdf

Winds: We've already seen some strong winds overnight ( https://www.weather.gov/wrh/TextProduct?product=pnsphi&id=7579336e-39f6-4e33-93ef-8a89e0929b82 ). These windy conditions will continue through today and tonight. These strong of winds may make driving difficult, particularly in high profile vehicles.

Tides: We are entering high tide now on the oceanfront, so expect to see significant tidal impacts over the next few hours. Once we get through this high tide, we still expect to see coastal/tidal flooding impacts for the next 2 - 4 high tide cycles (depending on the location). For the latest details on tidal/coastal flooding, please visit https://www.weather.gov/erh/coastalflood?wfo=phi

Rain: Bands of light to moderate rain will continue through the weekend. It still looks like the risk for flash flooding is low, but slow rises on area waterways are expected. Currently, the only non-tidal river forecast to go into flood is the Millstone river in New Jersey. For the latest river forecasts, visit https://water.noaa.gov/wfo/phi Rain could also exacerbate coastal/tidal flooding impacts.

A big thank you to UPT Fire & Emergency Services & UPT Police Department for having us out last night. We really appreciate the opportunity to train alongside both departments and spend some time working through night operations, thermal imaging, and some of the challenges that come with flying after dark.

Training together like this is important. When an actual call comes in, it helps to already know how the other teams operate, what equipment and capabilities are available, and how we can work together.

Thanks again to everyone involved for a great night of training, and especially to Sgt. Solorio for putting it all together. We’re looking forward to the next joint training opportunity!

Last night, some of our members met with two of Ed Conway’s daughters, who made a generous donation to the Friendship Fire Company Diving-Rescue Unit in their dad’s memory.

Ed’s connection to Friendship spanned nearly 70 years. He first joined in 1956, served as Dive Captain, and remained active until 1986. When he returned in 2024, it did not take long for him to become a regular around the station again. We were all glad to welcome him back, and we truly miss having him around.

We cannot thank Ed’s family enough for thinking of our organization. We greatly appreciate their generous donation, which will help us continue our mission of providing search, rescue, and recovery services to Phoenixville and communities throughout the region.
