Join us in our mission to expand literacy! 📚

Orion Communities is partnering with Herd & Harvest Market to collect children's books.

Did you know that 1 in 4 children in America grow up without learning to read? Your donation of new or gently used books can help change that.

•Saturday (9 AM-7 PM)
•Sunday (3 PM-7 PM).

Thank you for helping us make a difference.

Honoring Dolly Parton's Legacy of Literacy.

This week, the world said goodbye to Dolly Parton — a woman whose voice reached far beyond music. Through her Imagination Library, Dolly gifted more than 300 million free books to children around the world, sparking a lifelong love of reading in kids who might never have had a book of their own.

At Orion Communities, we believe every child deserves a book. Last year alone, we gave out 26,000 books, and our giving library remains open to the community year-round — a small piece of the same spirit Dolly spent her life building.

In her honor, we invite you to drop off a children's book at our office (M–F, 9am–4pm). Every book collected will help keep her legacy of imagination and literacy alive right here at home.

📚 Thank you, Dolly, for believing every child deserves a story of their own.

Getting to Yes! 5th Annual Housing Summit Co-hosted by Chesco Commissioners & Allies for Housing in Chesco.

Stable housing is the foundation of a thriving community, yet over one-quarter (26%) of Chester County households currently live below the ALICE threshold and face daily financial hardship. To support our workforce, where 40% of workers earn a median income under $61,000,
we need actionable, local solutions to meet our growing housing needs.

At the 5th Annual Housing Summit: Getting to Yes, local leaders, housing advocates, and community partners gathered to discuss data-driven planning and real-world success stories. Over the next 25 years, Chester County is projected to add 99,000 people and will require 36,500 new homes. Finding solutions means moving from "not in my backyard" to collaborative action.

✨Key Takeaways from the Summit:

Local Municipal Successes: Projects like The Willows at Valley Run (120 affordable rental units in Caln Township) and Pinckney Hill Commons demonstrate how local partnerships deliver real results.
Zoning Reform & 'Missing Middle' Housing: Permitting Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), side-by-side twins, and cottage courts gives communities flexible options to create accessible, workforce housing.
YIGBY ("Yes In God’s Back Yard") & Faith Partnerships: Faith-based organizations and nonprofits are leveraging land assets and local partnerships to create sustainable housing solutions.

How You Can Help—>

•Stay Informed: Explore local housing data and resources at chescoplanning.org/housing.
•Speak Up: Attend municipal meetings to advocate for smart zoning reforms and affordable options in your community.
•Connect: Partner with local housing allies, nonprofits, and civic leaders to scale what works.

Together, every municipality can be part of the solution.
