Newsletters, Adoptions and Foster applications ... OH MY !
Paperwork is part of life... but we want to make sure you stay informed and in touch with us .

Did you know that at any given time the perfect Doberman for you has not even made it to DVDPA yet ?
We get calls every week about Dobermans that need to be pulled from Shelters or homes that can no longer keep them due to all different circumstances..
That is why it is so important to get an application in our data base before you see a potential new best friend posted on Facebook.
Buy filling out an application on our website www.dvdpa.org, you get a leg up so to speak. Our adoption coordinator can screen your application, get your virtual home visit done, check your references and you are already in the home stretch. The perfect Doberman for you may not be with us yet, but when they do arrive we already have your paperwork, so once you reach out and express interest in one you may see on line we can move on it.
**** If you are interested in becoming Foster, the process is pretty much the same as adoption , fill out the Foster application on the website and one of our Foster coordinators with contact you. ***
Just a few key points :
1. For the moment we can only accept applications done on a computer, as there seems to be a glitch when using a phone ( we are gonna try to work on that )

2. Once you submit your application you will receive an Email from us ( usually 2-3 days afer your application is submitted ) PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM, especially if this your first time communicating with us via Email. If you submit an application and do not hear back from us in 4-5 days please CALL us ! We will be more than happy to check on it for you.

3. Please be sure to Submit your home visit pictures / videos

4. Please keep in mind, we are All volunteers, so we do the best we can at addressing things in a timely manner. Please be patient and never be afraid to reach out to us via email or phone.

5. We also have a DVDPA Newsletter that Robyn sends out via email, so if you would like to be put on our email list send your email address to [email protected] and put DVDPA newsletter in the subject line. Robyn will get you added in so you can keep up on all the latest news, events and fundraisers.

Meet Gunnar - He is a 16 month old Red Neutered male who was turned in by his family after eating some unmentionables , the owner had to surrender due to cost. though the owners stated he became this emaciated due to the blockage , the veterinarian disagreed. The owners reported they we not able to keep weight on him and he presented to the vet with a body score of 1-10. As you can imagine Gunnar will needs an investigative work up and a special diet . DVDPA will do everything we can to help this boy get into shape and into a new home. In the mean time he is currently with one of our very experienced Foster moms who will be tending to his needs. He will be going to Our Vet this Thursday for an evaluation.

Gunnar is very very sweet, he knows his name and he loves just being near you.

This very handsome guy is Sky. He is 3 years old, neutered and up to date on shots. He was pulled from a shelter and has been decompressing in foster. He has so much potential, but he's looking for a very specific kind of home—one that understands him and is ready to help him succeed. He is a ladies man and needs to have a female owner. No kids, no cats, would be okay with a female dog his size.

Sky would thrive with a confident, experienced woman who can provide clear leadership, consistency, and continued training. He isn't a "plug-and-play" dog, and he comes with a few quirks that require patience and understanding. What Sky needs most is someone willing to see past those challenges and invest in helping him become the best version of himself.

The right person for Sky won't be intimidated by a little extra work—they'll recognize the loyal, intelligent dog underneath and be committed to building a strong bond through structure, training, and trust.

Foster Needed (another ASAP situation) located in MD- they don’t come any sweeter than this! This handsome boy is looking for a foster, foster-to-adopt, or adoptive home. A 4-year-old black and rust Doberman who is friendly with strangers, enjoys other dogs, loves walks and playtime, and has been living successfully in a home environment. His current placement can no longer continue adopting him, so we are working to find him a new placement as quickly as possible.
Draco would do best with an experienced owner who understands the importance of allowing a dog time to decompress and settle into a new environment. He is a big, handsome boy at approximately 90 pounds and is looking for someone willing to give him the structure, patience, and consistency he deserves.

The Doberman Pinscher health foundation is holding its 1st ever Virtual 5K !!

Our inaugural 5K virtual walk/run is in full swing and thanks to the great response we have reached half of our goal of 200 participants!

There is plenty of time to join the fun and support a meaningful cause, we are accepting registrations until July 21st.

For all current registrations, with the exception of just a few, the shirts and medallions have shipped and we have most shirt sizes on hand ready to ship immediately for new registrations.
