IAM Union District 142 Retirement Director Rick LoVerde and Legislative Director Sean Holland met with members in Pittsburgh today. They were joined by representatives from the IAM Pension Department, Employee Benefits Services (EBS), and the National Group Protection (NGP) program.

Each representative had the opportunity to address the membership and provide valuable information on the benefits, resources, and services available to IAM members. During their visit, they also witnessed a special award presentation recognizing a member's 50 years of union membership with the presentation of a Gold Card.

Following their time on the property, the group attended the Local 1976 union meeting, where they continued their outreach efforts by sharing important information and engaging directly with members.

District 142 extends its sincere appreciation to Local 1976 for hosting the event and opening its doors to welcome District representatives. The gathering provided a valuable opportunity to meet with members, answer questions, and help inform and educate the membership on issues and programs that impact their livelihoods and retirement security.

Yesterday, IAM District 142 Retirement Director Rick LoVerde and Legislative Director Sean Holland attended the Local 1976 retirement meeting. During the meeting, they shared valuable updates with members and addressed a variety of questions regarding retirement and legislative issues.

District 142 continues its commitment to keeping members informed, engaged, and connected by providing timely information and support across the membership.

Local 8 workers at Embassy Suites Seattle Pioneer Square have been on strike since June 18. A huge thank you to IAM Local 2202 members Mike Mead and Brandon Johnson and our union siblings from the MLK Labor Council for supporting our brothers and sisters and standing with us in solidarity. Together, we are stronger.

IAM District 142 Safety Representative Jamie Estrada recently made station visit to Pago Pago, American Samoa, where she worked closely with local agents to promote safety initiatives and strengthen workplace practices.

Estrada described the experience as a hands-on learning adventure filled with teamwork, curiosity, and genuine island hospitality. Throughout her visit, she focused on promoting the HSAP program, explaining its components, answering questions, and demonstrating how the program helps build and sustain a strong safety culture across the station.

One of the visit's major highlights was assisting the team with placing an order for a Passenger Transfer Kit (PTK). The PTK is an essential tool that helps ensure wheelchair passengers can be transported on and off aircraft more safely, efficiently, and with greater dignity. The process provided a valuable real-world example of how the right equipment can enhance both safety and customer service.

Overall, the visit was highly productive and reinforced the team's commitment to continuous improvement. Estrada praised the people of Pago Pago for their warm welcome and strong dedication to learning, growing, and advancing safety practices throughout the station.

Last week, District 142 General Chair Lorraine Fraser visited the BUF station, where she engaged with members and addressed topics that matter most to them. She also provided updates on a number of ongoing issues and initiatives impacting the membership. The visit offered a valuable opportunity for open dialogue and member engagement.
