We're excited to share that JAG Arizona has received a $15,000 grant from Desert Financial Credit Union to support our college and career readiness programs!

We are so grateful for this generous investment as it helps us provide hands-on career exploration, leadership development, and college readiness experiences to students across Arizona. We're proud to be among 21 Arizona nonprofits receiving a combined $260,000 through Desert Financial Credit Union's 2026 grant program.

Lea believes leadership is about more than reaching your own goals; it is about helping others reach theirs along the way!

The Camp Verde High School senior is passionate about theater and dreams of building a career in the performing arts. As a 2026–27 University of Phoenix LEADS Officer, Lea hopes to inspire students to believe in themselves and pursue what they are passionate about.

Now she is working toward the National Student Leadership Academy (NSLA) in Washington, D.C., where she will represent JAG Arizona with her fellow LEADS Officers! Your support can help make that journey possible!

What happens when students are given the opportunity to lead? They create plans, share ideas, and find ways to make a difference!

Jobs For Arizona's Graduates Leadership Development Conference (LDC) brought student leaders together from across the state for a day focused on growth, connection, and student-led action. JAG students came together to create their Program of Work, beginning a student-led plan focused on leadership, career readiness, civic engagement, community service, and social responsibility.

One highlight of LDC was hearing students share the different ways they already serve their communities and how they plan to keep giving back through the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. These conversations help students see that their voices, ideas, and actions can create meaningful change.

We’re proud to see our students start the year with purpose and with a plan to lead!

Gratitude was at the heart of Shadow Mountain High School JAG’s 9/11 service project.

Through Operation Gratitude, 14 JAG students visited their local Fire Station 27 on September 11 to deliver goodie bags to firefighters and thank them for serving the community!
Their service continued back at school during their school-wide JAGAPALOOZA, where they invited students to make service letters and decorate boxes to send to active-duty service members. They also prepared a box of goodies for their local SRO to take back to his police station.

Through each activity, Shadow Mountain JAG students demonstrated how gratitude can become a meaningful form of community engagement and leadership.

Wickenburg High School JAG found meaningful ways to remember and serve in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of 9/11 Day.

In honor of those who risked everything to serve others during 9/11, Wickenburg JAG students learned and earned CPR and First Aid certifications, gaining skills that could help save a life.
They also invited their school community to dedicate 25 minutes to an act of service. Together, they created cards for community heroes, helped clean around campus, and joined a memorial stair climb alongside local firefighters in their gear.

To make the experience even more personal, every JAG student was assigned someone who lost their life on 9/11 to learn about and remember.

We’re proud of the Wickenburg JAG students for coming together to remember, serve, and honor the many people who showed extraordinary courage and compassion.

Finding your voice has power, and using it to help others has even more!

Once shy and hesitant to meet new people, Karen from Coronado High School has challenged herself in JAG to step outside her comfort zone and become more confident in sharing her voice. Today, she is a 2026–27 University of Phoenix LEADS Officer and wants to use her leadership experience to remind fellow students that their stories and experiences matter!

Her next goal is NSLA in Washington, D.C., where she’ll learn, connect, and grow alongside other JAG student leaders from across the nation. You can help Karen and the JAG LEADS get one step closer to NSLA!

Today, we remember the people and families whose lives were forever changed on September 11, 2001.

We remember the lives lost. We remember the heroes who stepped forward. We remember the communities that came together to support one another during an incredibly difficult time.

As we reflect, may we continue to look out for one another and remember the strength that comes from standing together.

More than 180 JAG students from across Arizona will gather for the Leadership Development Conference. This special day gives students an opportunity to step into their leadership, connect with others, learn from new experiences, and think about the possibilities ahead.

Anais is finding her voice and using it to help others be heard!

As a senior at Gila Bend High School and a 2026–27 University of Phoenix LEADS Officer, Anais is growing as a leader by listening to her peers, advocating for others, and embracing new opportunities. She’s learning that leadership isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being willing to learn, grow, and keep moving forward.
