Recovery Month: Reaching Families Worldwide Through Public Outreach

As we celebrate Al-Anon Family Groups’ 75th anniversary, help us honor decades of hope and help for families and friends of alcoholics by carrying the message during September Recovery Month (US/Canada), and on International Recovery Day, September 30. Your participation in raising awareness about the program helps expand access to family recovery, reduce stigma, and ensure Al‑Anon’s message reaches people affected by someone else’s drinking. Start by planning your outreach now! To understand how Al-Anon Districts, Areas, and international structures can support these efforts, review the Public Outreach section in the “Digest of Al‑Anon and Alateen Policies” in the “2026–2029 Al‑Anon/Alateen Service Manual” (P-24/27).

Or, if he didn’t hang around certain people, if I could love him enough, if I maintained a comfortable home and served delicious meals, he’d stop the excess drinking. However, that didn’t work.
