Dear Al-Anon and Alateen Family ~

Attached is the flyer for Delegate's Day coming up on June 13th -- a time to thank our Delegate for tireless effort on the part of Al-Anon in Arizona, and a time to connect with each other and learn more about what is going on at the national level.

Events like this don't happen in a vacuum! We are very grateful to District 17 for hosting this event -- it's a big undertaking. And your help is needed -- the Host Committee is looking for volunteers at every level, from set up to clean up. PLEASE contact the Host Committee at the email or phone number provided on the flyer, or use this link to go directly to a sign-up page:

To the SRVAIS Al-Anon Family ~

Al-Anon’s Delegate’s Day is a local service meeting where our Area Delegate, Melody G, will share information and key decisions from her experience at the annual World Service Conference (WSC). This event connects local Al-Anon members with the worldwide fellowship, focusing on fostering unity and understanding of Al-Anon’s trusted servant structure. Attendance at Delegate's Day is expected for all District and Group Reps.

This year's event is being hosted by District 17, and the details are included in the attached flyer so please mark your calendars.

Can you be of service? The Host Committee would greatly appreciate your assistance! Please contact Sarah C at 714-514-2911 or send an email to [email protected] to volunteer for this event, or if you have any questions.

In service,

~ Debra D.
Vice-Chair for SRVAIS Board

Hello, Al-Anon and Alateen Members ~

"When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help let the hand of Al-Anon and Alateen always be there, and let it begin with me."

Does this sound familiar? Well, SRVAIS is reaching out for help . . .

We have several volunteer positions that need to be filled but, MOST IMPORTANT of these are the positions of Office Management Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator. These two positions oversee the training and support of the Office Volunteers along with ensuring smooth operations for the daily functions of the office. And both of these positions are currently VACANT, which puts extra strain and extra responsibility on the office staff. The ability of SRVAIS to always be there for those in need depends on our office and Board volunteers!

PLEASE -- let it begin with YOU! Do you have skills and experience in training, supervision, and support of office staff or possibly a background in HR? Do you have skills and experience in office management? If so, WE NEED YOU! These positions do require the ability to come to the SRVAIS office on a regularly scheduled basis and, occasionally, on an emergent basis with short notice.

Working in the SRVAIS office is an amazing opportunity to share your Al-Anon experience, strength, and hope with people who are seeking help, with your fellow volunteers, and with the community at large. Please come be a part of this richly rewarding service work. Let it begin with you . . .

Yours in service,

~ Debra D.

“In my years in Al-Anon, I’ve become familiar with several books and workbooks that take me through the Steps and the Traditions. But Al-Anon’s ‘Twelve Steps & Twelve Traditions’ (B-8), also known as ‘the Twelve & Twelve,’ has a special place in my growth in Al-Anon.

“I remember my first Al-Anon meetings, when I was overwhelmed with the stress of losing a job and a marriage of more than 25 years. I was looking for any help that I could get, but I wasn’t in any position to give careful study to a long and challenging book. Al-Anon’s ‘Twelve Steps & Twelve Traditions’ was available to me through my home group’s lending library. I found it to be simple and clear. It was not overwhelming, and it opened the door to further study. It proved to be an excellent introduction to the Steps and Traditions.

“Today, I would recommend the book to any newcomer who hasn’t yet had much experience in studying the Steps and Traditions. It was the right book at the right time for me. It could be that for you, too.”
