SABEW has announced new leadership for its Board of Governors.

Robert Barba, politics editor at WNYC/Gothamist, was installed as President of SABEW during the annual conference on May 9 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Philadelphia Center City.

SABEW’s 2026–2027 officer ladder also includes:
• Vice President Kelli Grant, CFP®, senior personal finance editor at CNBC
• Secretary/Treasurer Mark DeCambre, editor in chief at MarketWatch/Dow Jones

SABEW members also elected four new Governors to the Board:
• Rebecca Baker — Bloomberg Industry Group
• Alexis Sobel Fitts — The Washington Post
• Cara Lombardo — The Wall Street Journal
• Dean Murphy — The New York Times

As the largest association of business journalists, SABEW continues to support ethical, comprehensive reporting without fear or favoritism while strengthening journalists through continuous education.

SABEW Canada has announced the finalists for its 12th annual Best in Business Awards, recognizing outstanding Canadian business reporting published and produced in 2025.

This year’s finalists represent exceptional journalism across categories including investigative reporting, commentary, breaking news, audio, multimedia, personal finance, feature writing, and more.

Winners will be announced during an in-person celebration honoring the finalists on Thursday, May 28 at 7 p.m. at The Pilot in Toronto.
