Check for a Lump is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides free breast health education, mammograms, testing, and direct assistance to breast cancer patients with wigs, support, and resources in Arizona. - Education: Empowering women in Arizona and beyond with invaluable breast health facts and preventive information. Distribution through annual magazine, STEP UP to Prevention Wellness Workshops, social media, website and other media outlets.
- Wig Program: Impacting women in Arizona undergoing chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer with a free wig; providing them the comfort and normalcy they deserve. Clients apply online and, once approved, may select a wig of choice up to $300 at one of our approved wig shops, and Check for a Lump pays the bill. We have provided over 2,500 people with free wigs since inception.
- Mammogram Program: Providing FREE screening mammograms to qualifying women in Arizona. If further diagnostic testing is necessary after receiving the initial mammogram through our program, we cover 100% of the costs, up to diagnosis or an "all clear". * Arizona residents apply online and, once approved, may schedule at one of our available event locations. Check for a Lump is directly billed by the imagining company partners so that our clients never have to see a bill.
- Super Survivors:
--> Super Survivors Unite! Creating a welcoming space to connect breast cancer patients and survivors, along with their co-survivors, through fun group therapeutic activities. Women can sign up for our free Super Survivor Unite events on our website.
--> Super Survivor Kits! Lifting spirits by providing comfort items and non-toxic essentials, our kits are available to any Arizona resident undergoing breast cancer treatment.
